Utkal Divas or Odisha day is celebrated on the first day of April every year to commemorate the foundation day of the state of Odisha.
This significant day signifies the separation of Odisha from the combined Bihar and Orissa provinces during the British colonial era in India.
The occasion is celebrated across the state, with people decorating their homes and public spaces with flags, banners, symbolizing the vibrant culture and heritage of Odisha.

International Affairs

Arizona (a southwestern US state) has recently declared Pluto as its ‘official state planet’ despite the ‘dwarf planet’ being stripped of its official status as a planet in 2006 by the International Astronomical Union.
It is important to note that Pluto was discovered by American astronomer Clyde Tombaugh at the Lowell Observatory in Flagstaff of Arizona in 1930.
Pluto happens to be the only planet to be discovered in the US.
