NH-44 Traffic Update
From 01-06-2026, 1600 hrs to 02-06-2026, 1600 hrs:
Slow traffic movement observed on NH-44 due to:
Single-lane conditions between Marog and Kishtwar Pather
Movement of 02 nomadic herds (crossing Nachlana–Banihal)
Movement of 01 nomadic herd at a slow pace between Marog to Qazigund
Commuters are advised to:
Follow lane discipline
Avoid overtaking
Passenger / LMV Movement Advisory :
Passengers/LMVs advised to prefer journey on Jammu–Srinagar NHW during daytime
Night travel should be avoided due to:
Shooting stones
Landslides
Ongoing construction activities
NH-44 (NHW) Traffic Plan
Subject to fair weather & road conditions:
LMVs / Passenger / Private Cars / HMVs (up to 6 tyres) allowed from both sides:
Jammu → Srinagar
Srinagar → Jammu
Must strictly follow:
Lane discipline
No overtaking
Violations may cause congestion
Traffic Control Units (TCU) Jammu/Srinagar will coordinate
Security Forces Movement
Subject to weather and road conditions:
Security Forces vehicles allowed from both sides
Movement coordinated between:
Jammu–Srinagar NHW (NH-44)
Srinagar–Jammu
Final decision after confirmation of NHW status from TCU Ramban
Kishtwar–Sinthan–Anantnag NH-244
As per SDM Kokernag order (dated 25-05-2026):
LMVs Passenger/Private Cars allowed:
Anantnag → Kishtwar
Heavy Motor Vehicles (HMVs):
Allowed from Daksum → Anantnag
HMVs up to 6 tyres allowed both ways
Traffic allowed from 0800 hrs to 1600 hrs
No movement after cut-off timing
Monitoring by TCU Ramban & TCU Anantnag
SSG Road Traffic Plan
As per Divisional Commissioner Kashmir order:
LMVs allowed from both sides on Srinagar–Sonamarg–Gumri road
LMVs:
From Sonamarg → Kargil
From Minamarg → Srinagar
HMVs (only stranded vehicles):
Allowed towards Srinagar between 1200 hrs – 1500 hrs
No movement after 1500 hrs
