Jammu Srinagar National Highway Update for 12Nov 2025
🛣️ NH-44 (Jammu–Srinagar National Highway)
From 10-11-2025 (1600 hrs) to 11-11-2025 (1600 hrs), slow movement was observed on NH-44 due to single-lane traffic at Ballinala, Dewal, Nashri-Dalwas, and between Marog and Kishtwari Pathar.
Advisory: Passengers and LMV (Light Motor Vehicle) operators are advised to prefer daytime travel. Night movement is discouraged because HMVs between Nashri Tunnel and NAVYUG Tunnel and migration of nomads may cause inconvenience.
Commuters should maintain lane discipline; overtaking and wrong-lane driving will cause congestion.
🚗 Traffic movement
LMVs/Private Cars/HMVs (good condition) shall be allowed both ways on Jammu–Srinagar NHW (NH-44) from Jammu towards Srinagar and vice-versa (subject to fair weather).
TCU Jammu/Srinagar will coordinate road conditions with TCU Ramban.
🪖 Security Forces Convoy
Allowed both sides on NH-44 between Jammu and Srinagar, subject to fair weather and coordination with TCU Ramban.
🏞️ Kishtwar–Sinthan–Anantnag NH-244
After clearance from NHDLCL, only LMVs will be allowed from Anantnag → Kishtwar and vice-versa.
Timings: From PP Parana (Anantnag) 0800–1500 hrs and PP Dakum (Kishtwar) 0900–1500 hrs.
🏔️ SSG (Srinagar–Sonamarg–Gumari) Road
Subject to clearance from BRO:
LMVs followed by HMVs allowed from Minamarg → Sonamarg (0500–1000 hrs).
LMVs followed by HMVs allowed from Sonamarg → Kargil (1130–1730 hrs).
No vehicle shall be allowed outside these timings.
🛻 Mughal Road
Subject to clearance and fair weather:
LMVs/Passenger/Private Cars allowed both sides between Bafliaz ↔ Poonch (0600–1700 hrs).
No HMVs allowed.
