TRAFFIC PLAN & ADVISORY FOR 27-12-2025

General Information

From 25-12-2025 (1600 hrs) to 26-12-2025 (1600 hrs), slow movement was observed on NH-44 due to single-lane traffic at Bhallina, Dewal, Nashri-Dalwas, and between Marog and Kishtwar Pather, in addition to the breakdown of 03 HMVs on NH-44.

LMV passengers/operators are advised to prefer journey during daytime on the Jammu–Srinagar NHW.
Night travel is discouraged due to the movement of HMVs between Nashri Tunnel and NAVYUG Tunnel, which causes inconvenience.

Commuters are advised to follow lane discipline. Overtaking and wrong-lane driving will cause congestion.

🛣️ NH-44 (Jammu–Srinagar Highway)

Subject to fair weather and good road conditions,
LMVs / Passenger vehicles / HPVs / Private cars / HMVs (goods carriers) shall be allowed both ways.

TCU Jammu & TCU Srinagar will coordinate with Traffic Control Room (TCR) Ramban regarding road conditions.

SFs Convoy Movement

Subject to fair weather, road conditions, and security clearance, SF vehicles shall be allowed both ways on NH-44 after confirming the road status from TCR Ramban.

🛣️ Kishtwar – Sinthan – Anantnag NH-244

Subject to fair weather and road condition, after getting green signal from NHIDCL,
LMVs shall be allowed one-way from Anantnag to Kishtwar.

Vehicles shall be allowed between 1000 hrs to 1400 hrs.

PP Baramulla and PP Daksum will regulate traffic.

🛣️ SSG ROAD (Srinagar–Sonamarg–Gumri)

Subject to fair weather and good road condition, after green signal from BRO, traffic shall be allowed in a regulated manner.

LMVs followed by HMVs (up to 06 tyres) with anti-skid chains shall be allowed from Sonamarg to Kargil between 1300 hrs to 1600 hrs.

No vehicle shall be allowed after cut-off timing.

Motorists are advised to carry anti-skid chains to prevent skidding.

SFs Convoy movement from Srinagar to Kargil and vice-versa shall be planned to avoid disruption of civil traffic (UP & DOWN).

🛣️ Mughal Road

Subject to fair weather and good road condition, after green signal from GREF,
LMVs / Passenger vehicles / Private cars with anti-skid chains shall be allowed both ways between Jammu and Srinagar via Poonch.

These vehicles shall be allowed from Chandimarh (Bafliaz) towards Shopian.

No vehicle shall be allowed after cut-off timing.

TCU Jammu & TCU Srinagar will inform all concerned.
