Traffic Plan & Advisory for 12-01-2026

From 10-01-2026, 1600 hrs to 11-01-2026, 1600 hrs, there was slow movement observed on NH-44 due to single-lane traffic at Ballinalla, Dewal, Nashri-Dalwas and between Marog and Kishtwari Pather, in addition to the breakdown of 02 HMVs on NH-44.

Passengers / LMVs Advisory

Passengers and LMV operators are advised to prefer journey on Jammu–Srinagar NHW during daytime.

Avoid night travel, as movement of HMVs between Nashri Tunnel and NAVYUG Tunnel may cause inconvenience.

For Commuters

Follow lane discipline.

Overtaking and wrong-lane driving will cause congestion.

NH-44 (NHW)

LMVs / Passenger / Private Cars / HMVs (Good Carrier)

Subject to fair weather and better road conditions, traffic shall be allowed from both sides on Jammu–Srinagar NH-44.

TCU Jammu / Srinagar shall coordinate with TCU Ramban regarding road condition.

SFS Convoy Movement

Subject to fair weather and good road condition, Security Forces vehicles shall be allowed from both sides on NH-44 after confirming road status from TCU Ramban.

Kishtwar – Sinthan – Anantnag (NH-244)

Closed for vehicular movement due to fresh snow accumulation.

SSG ROAD

Subject to fair weather and good road condition and after green signal from BRO:

Traffic allowed on Srinagar–Sonamarg–Gumri road from Srinagar towards Kargil.

LMVs followed by HMVs (up to 06 tyres) with anti-skid chains allowed.

Movement timing: 1100 hrs to 1500 hrs.

TCU Srinagar and PCR Kargil shall inform all concerned about cut-off timing.

SFS Convoy from Srinagar towards Kargil shall plan movement so that civil traffic is not disturbed.

Mughal Road

Subject to fair weather and after green signal from road maintenance agencies (GREF):

LMVs / Passenger / Private Cars with anti-skid chains allowed from Shopian towards Srinagar and Shopian towards Poonch via Chandimarg (Baffliaz).

Timing: 1030 hrs to 1430 hrs.

No vehicle allowed after cut-off time.

TCU Jammu and TCU Srinagar will inform all concerned.
