TRAFFIC POLICE HEADQUARTERS, J&K, JAMMU / SRINAGAR
Traffic Plan & Advisory for 13-01-2026
From 11-01-2026, 1600 hrs to 12-01-2026, 1600 hrs, there was slow movement observed on NH-44 due to single-lane traffic at Ballinalla, Dewal, Nashri-Dalwas and between Marog and Kishtwari Pather, in addition to the breakdown of 03 HMVs on NH-44.
Passengers / LMVs Advisory
Passengers and LMV operators are advised to prefer journey on Jammu–Srinagar NHW during daytime.
Avoid night travel, as movement of HMVs between Nashri Tunnel and NAVYUG Tunnel may cause inconvenience.
For Commuters
Maintain lane discipline.
Overtaking and wrong-lane driving will lead to congestion.
NH-44 (NHW)
LMVs / Passenger / Private Cars / HMVs (Good Carrier)
Subject to fair weather and better road conditions, traffic shall be allowed from both sides on Jammu–Srinagar NH-44 (Jammu ↔ Srinagar).
TCU Jammu / Srinagar shall coordinate with TCU Ramban regarding road condition.
SFS Convoy Movement
Subject to fair weather and good road condition, Security Forces vehicles shall be allowed from both sides on NH-44 after confirming road status from TCU Ramban.
Kishtwar – Sinthan – Anantnag (NH-244)
Closed for vehicular movement due to fresh snow accumulation.
SSG ROAD
Subject to fair weather and after green signal from BRO:
Traffic allowed on Srinagar–Sonamarg–Gumri road from Kargil towards Srinagar.
LMVs followed by HMVs (up to 06 tyres) with anti-skid chains allowed.
Movement timing: 1100 hrs to 1500 hrs.
Motorists advised to carry anti-skid chains due to slippery road.
TCU Srinagar and PCR Kargil will coordinate and inform about cut-off timing.
SFS Convoy from Kargil to Srinagar must plan movement so that civil traffic is not disturbed.
Mughal Road
Subject to fair weather and after green signal from road maintenance agencies (GREF):
LMVs / Passenger / Private Cars with anti-skid chains allowed from both sides (Jammu ↔ Srinagar).
Vehicles allowed from Chandimarg (Baffliaz) towards Shopian and Herpora (Shopian) towards Poonch.
Timing: 1030 hrs to 1430 hrs.
No vehicle allowed after cut-off time.
TCU Jammu and TCU Srinagar will inform all concerned.
