Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology of Jammu (SKUAST-Jammu) has invited applications from eligible candidates for temporary positions of Project Staff under ad-hoc projects. The recruitment is being conducted for project-related work involving plant pathology, microbiological analysis, molecular biology techniques, field experiments and data analysis.
Interested and eligible candidates can apply in the prescribed format along with the required documents by 22 October 2026 up to 4:00 PM.

The recruitment includes the following temporary positions:
1. Project Assistant
Number of Posts: 01
Project: Development of diagnostic tools for detection of major pathogens associated with corm rot of saffron
Monthly Emoluments: ₹20,000 consolidated per month
Essential Qualification:
M.Sc. in Agriculture (Plant Pathology).

2. Young Professional-I
Number of Posts: 01
Monthly Emoluments: ₹30,000 consolidated per month
Essential Qualification:
Candidates should possess any of the following qualifications:
M.Sc. (Agriculture) in Plant Pathology
M.Tech. in Biotechnology
SSC CHSL 10+2 Online Form 2026 for 2536 Posts
M.Sc. in Biotechnology
Desirable Qualification:
Hands-on experience in microbiological and molecular biology techniques.
Age Limit
The age limit for the advertised positions will be as per ICAR guidelines.
Duties and Responsibilities
Selected candidates will be required to perform duties related to the successful implementation of the project. Their responsibilities may include:
Conducting field experiments.
Carrying out microbial analysis.
Performing data analysis.
Compiling project reports.
Assisting in project-related research activities.
Performing other duties assigned by the Principal Investigator from time to time.
Tenure of Appointment
The advertised positions are purely temporary and will initially be filled up to 31 March 2027.
The appointment will remain valid only for the duration and requirements of the concerned project. The positions are co-terminus with the project and do not provide any claim for absorption against any temporary or regular post in the University.
SKUAST-Jammu reserves the right to fill or not fill the advertised positions depending upon the qualifications, credentials and other applicable criteria of the candidates.
The services of an appointed candidate may also be terminated by the University at any time without assigning any reason.

Candidates appearing for the interview will not be entitled to any TA/DA.
