Vacancy :
A total of 1644 vacancies have been notified across two establishments for multiple designated ITI trades. The vacancies are distributed across reservation categories – UR (Unreserved), EWS (Economically Weaker Section), OBC (Other Backward Classes), SC (Scheduled Caste), and ST (Scheduled Tribe)
Horizontal reservations are also provided for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) and Ex-Servicemen (Ex.SM). The Fitter and Electrician trades have the highest number of vacancies in the Raipur Division, while Fitter and Welder dominate the Wagon Repair Shop vacancies. Candidates may note that if EWS category seats remain unfilled, they will be filled as per SECR/HQ clarification No. P-HQ/RUL/101/10 (E-50910) dated 13.02.2024.

Eligibility Criteria :
Candidates must fulfil both the educational/technical qualification requirements and the age limit to be eligible for this recruitment. The educational qualifications are mandatory and must have already been obtained before the date of notification – candidates appearing in qualifying examinations or awaiting results are not eligible.
The minimum 10th class marks of 50% aggregate is mandatory and the fraction will be applied strictly (e.g., 49.9% will be treated as less than 50%).
ITI qualification must be in the relevant trade from a recognised institution. Candidates are not required to wait for their ITI marksheet if already passed – they must have the actual pass certificate in hand at the time of application. Council Registration (NCVT/SCVT) of the ITI is also required to be verified during document verification.

ITI : Passed ITI in the relevant trade from a recognised institution

The official notification does not specify any application fee for this Act Apprentice recruitment. Selection Process :
The selection of candidates for Act Apprenticeship in SECR Raipur Division and Wagon Repair Shop, Raipur is based purely on merit, with no written examination. The merit list is prepared by taking the average of the percentage marks obtained in both the 10th (Matriculation) examination and the ITI examination, giving equal weightage to both (as per Railway Establishment Rule 201/2017).
The minimum eligibility score for 10th is 50% aggregate. Candidates who qualify in the merit list will be called for document verification, where all original certificates must be produced. If any discrepancy is found between the uploaded documents and originals, or if original documents are not produced, the candidature will be cancelled.
The Railway Administration’s decision in all matters relating to eligibility, acceptance or rejection of applications, and mode of selection is final and binding.

How to Apply ?
The application process is entirely online through the National Apprenticeship India portal. No physical copy of the application is to be sent to the DRM Office, Raipur Division, or Wagon Repair Shop, Raipur. Candidates must register on the portal, fill in all required details accurately, and upload soft/scanned copies of their recent passport-size colour photograph, signature, and all necessary documents pertaining to educational and technical qualification
SC/ST/OBC candidates must also upload their recent caste certificate issued by the competent authority in the prescribed format and verify their Aadhaar on the portal. OBC candidates must additionally upload a Non-Creamy Layer Certificate – the OBC certificate must not be older than one year from the closing date of this notification.
PwBD candidates must upload a disability certificate from a Medical Board constituted by the Central or State Government certifying not less than 40% disability. EWS candidates must produce their EWS certificate as per sample Annexure-E at the time of document verification.

If at any stage it is found that a candidate has furnished wrong, fake, or false certificates, the Railway Administration reserves the right to discharge the candidate without notice – even after selection for training.
