Contractual Assistant Professor Recruitment – Zoology

Islamic University of Science & Technology (IUST), Kashmir has invited online applications from eligible candidates for engagement as Contractual Assistant Professor on academic arrangement in the Department of Zoology for teaching, research, and allied academic activities.

Eligibility Criteria :

Candidates must fulfill the following conditions:

Master’s degree with at least 55% marks (or equivalent grade) in a relevant/allied subject from a recognized Indian or foreign university.

Ph.D. degree awarded as per UGC Regulations 2009/2016 and amendments.

OR

Ph.D. degree obtained from a foreign university ranked among the top 500 universities worldwide by QS, THE, or ARWU at any time.

Salary :

Monthly Remuneration: ₹50,000 (fixed)

Tenure of Engagement :

The engagement will be initially up to 31 December 2026 or till the post is filled on a regular basis, whichever is earlier.

Extension is subject to:
Performance appraisal
Recommendations of Head of Department
Student feedback and university requirements

Leave Entitlement

Leaves and vacations will be governed by university norms applicable to contractual engagements.

Candidates must:

Apply online only through the university website
Pay an application fee of ₹500 (non-refundable) through online mode
Submit hard copy of the application along with self-attested documents to the Office of the Head, Department of Zoology

Applications without hard copy submission will not be considered.

Selection Procedure :

Shortlisting will be done as per prescribed criteria.

For each post :
20 candidates will be shortlisted
5 additional candidates for every extra post

Final selection will be through Interview only, strictly as per UGC Regulations 2018.

The selection panel will remain valid for one year.

University reserves the right to modify or cancel the recruitment process

Contract may be terminated with one-month notice or salary in lieu
