Vacancy Details :

A total of 1865 vacancies have been announced for the post of Apprentice, distributed across all States and Union Territories of India. The vacancies are spread across UR, SC, ST, OBC, and EWS categories. Reservation for PWD is horizontal and within the overall training vacancies for the State. The number of training seats mentioned is provisional and may vary according to the actual requirement of the Bank.

Eligibility Criteria :

Candidates must fulfill all eligibility conditions as on the cut-off date 01-04-2026. Candidates should NOT have undergone Apprenticeship either with Union Bank of India or in any other organization earlier, or be currently pursuing Apprenticeship Training as per the Apprentices Act 1961 as amended. Candidates who had completed apprenticeship training or had job experience for one year or more after completing the educational qualification are also not eligible.

The candidate applying for trainee seats of a particular state should be proficient (reading, writing, speaking and understanding) in any one of the local languages of that state. Candidates must possess the prescribed minimum qualification on the cut-off date; admission to all stages is provisional and subject to eligibility verification.

Educational Qualification :

Qualification Details
Graduate Degree Graduate degree in any discipline from any Institute / College / University recognized / approved by Govt. bodies / AICTE / UGC. The result must have been declared on or before 01.04.2026. The date of passing Graduation should not be more than 4 years preceding the cut-off date (i.e. Graduation Marksheet should not be prior to 01.04.2022).
Nationality / Citizenship Must be a Citizen of India or subject of Nepal / Bhutan / eligible person of Indian origin as per prescribed criteria. A certificate of eligibility from Govt. of India is required for non-Indian citizens in eligible categories.
Local Language Proficiency Candidate must be proficient in any one of the local languages of the applied state (reading, writing, speaking and understanding). Evidence via 10th/12th marksheet/certificate or local language proficiency test

Age Limit :

Candidates must be minimum 20 years and maximum 28 years of age as on 01-04-2026. Relaxation in upper age limit is available for reserved categories as specified below. Candidates belonging to OBC category falling in the creamy layer are not entitled to OBC age relaxation and should apply under UR/General category.

Application Fee :

Candidates applying for the post of Apprentice are required to pay a non-refundable examination fee and intimation charges as specified below. The fee must be paid online through the BFSI SSC application portal. The application process is complete only when the examination fee is paid to BFSI SSC through online mode on or before the last date of application. Fee once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances.

Selection Process :

The selection process for Union Bank of India Apprentice Recruitment 2026 consists of 2 (two) stages – an Online Test of 100 marks (objective type, 60 minutes) and a Proficiency Test of Local Language. Candidates who qualify the online test with cut-off marks as decided by the Bank will be called for document verification and the local language proficiency test. Final selection will be subject to meeting cut-off marks, satisfactory document verification, proficiency of local language, and submission of a Medically Fit Certificate from a registered General Physician.

Stage 2 – Proficiency Test of Local Language

The candidate applying for vacancies of a particular state must be proficient in any one of the local languages of that state (reading, writing, speaking and understanding). Selected candidates will have to produce their 10th/12th standard marksheet/certificate evidencing having studied the opted local language. Candidates unable to produce such certificate will be required to give a test of local language.

Stipend / Benefit :

The engaged apprentices are eligible for the following stipend per month for the contract period of one year. No other allowances/benefits are applicable. The stipend will be paid on completion of each month after adjusting unauthorized absence, if any. Labour laws provisions such as PF, ESI, Bonus shall NOT be applicable to apprentices.

How to Apply for Union Bank of India Apprentice Recruitment 2026

Applications must be submitted online only through the BFSI SSC portal. Hard copy of application and other documents must not be sent to the Bank’s office. Candidates are requested to apply online through https://unionbankofindia.bank.in/recruitment.aspx or https://beep.bfsissc.com/candidate_register/mkt. All candidates must also register on the NAPS portal (https://www.apprenticeshipindia.gov.in/) and NATS portal (https://nats.education.gov.in/student_type.php) before applying and note their Apprentice Registration Code (NAPS) and Enrolment ID (NATS) for future correspondence.

Candidates should avoid submitting multiple applications; if done unavoidably, only the last valid (completed) application will be retained, and fee paid against other applications will stand forfeited. No change of data is allowed after final submission of the online application.

Important Instructions :

The engagement of apprentices is not an employment in the Bank; it is on-job training to gain experience. The Bank has no obligation to offer regular employment on completion of the program.

Candidates should NOT have undergone or be currently pursuing Apprenticeship in any organization under the Apprentices Act 1961 as amended.

Candidates who had job experience of one year or more after completing educational qualification are NOT eligible.

No hard copy of application or other documents to be sent to the Bank’s office – online submission only.

Examination fee once paid is non-refundable and cannot be adjusted against any other exam or selection.

Not more than one application to be submitted; in case of multiple applications only the last valid application will be retained.

All candidates must produce Aadhaar number before engagement (contract signing).

The online examination will be conducted using candidate’s own camera-enabled device (desktop / laptop / tablet / smartphone).

Candidates are NOT permitted to use calculators during the examination.
