The notice does not specify a fixed number of vacancies against the individual disciplines.
Educational Qualification
For the above-mentioned disciplines, candidates should possess:
MBBS with MD/MS/DNB in the concerned discipline from an institution recognized by the National Medical Commission (NMC) and registered with the J&K State Medical Council.
Forensic Medicine
For the Forensic Medicine discipline:

Senior Resident:
Candidates must possess MBBS with MD/DNB in the concerned discipline from an institution recognized by NMC and registered with the J&K State Medical Council.
Tutor:
Candidates with an MBBS degree from an institution duly recognized by NMC may be considered for Tutor engagement only in case candidates meeting the Senior Resident eligibility are not available.
Tenure of Engagement
A candidate selected as Senior Resident will initially be engaged for a period of one year.
The engagement may be extended up to a maximum period of three years, subject to satisfactory performance. The extension will be considered on a year-to-year basis and will require certification of satisfactory performance by the concerned Head of Department.
Selection Process
The selection of candidates will be made on the basis of their performance in the MCQ-based written test, as prescribed under Government Order No. 383-JK(HME) of 2024 dated 20 June 2024.
In case two or more candidates secure equal merit in the written test, preference will be given to the candidate having the earlier date of birth.
Eligibility for Candidates with Previous Senior Residency
Candidates who have already undergone senior residency are generally not eligible to apply for the notified positions.
However, candidates who have completed 30 months or less than 30 months of senior residency may apply for the remaining period so as to complete the maximum three-year senior residency tenure.
Such candidates will be required to provide the relevant experience certificate.
Affidavit Requirement
Candidates are required to submit an affidavit duly attested by a Judicial Magistrate declaring that:
They are domiciles of the Union Territory of J&K and possess all required documents/certificates.
They have not previously undergone senior residency within or outside the J&K UT, where applicable for fresh candidates.
Candidates who have already undergone senior residency have completed 30 months or less than 30 months, wherever applicable.
All information furnished in the application form is true and correct and nothing has been concealed.
Conditions for Non-In-Service Candidates
Non-In-Service candidates selected under Academic Arrangement Basis will be engaged under S.O. 364 of 2020 dated 27 November 2020.
Their stipend will be paid in accordance with the provisions of the same Government Order.
Candidates who are already undergoing senior residency elsewhere and have not completed 30 months must produce a No Objection Certificate (NOC)/Relieving Order from the institution where they are currently serving.
Conditions for In-Service Candidates
For in-service candidates, the application will be entertained only after fulfilment of all prescribed requirements in accordance with the relevant rules.
Candidates must produce an NOC from their parent department, as applicable.
The in-service doctor will be paid salary as per their Last Pay Certificate (LPC).
In-service candidates who are already undergoing or have undergone senior residency elsewhere are debarred from applying.
Documents Required
Candidates are required to submit self-attested copies of the relevant documents, including:
MBBS Degree Certificate from a recognized University/Institution.
Internship Completion Certificate.
MD/MS/DNB qualification/degree certificate of the concerned specialty.
NMC/J&K Medical Council registration certificate for MBBS and MD/MS/DNB.
All mark sheets of MBBS/MD/MS/DNB.
Date of Birth Certificate.
Domicile Certificate.
No Objection Certificate for in-service candidates.
Screening Test Pass Certificate in case of Foreign Medical Graduates (FMGs).
Experience Certificate, where applicable.
Affidavit.
Incomplete applications or applications without the required documents/certificates will be rejected without further notice.
Special Provision for Forensic Medicine Tutor
If applicants possessing the prescribed postgraduate qualification for Forensic Medicine are not available, candidates holding an MBBS degree may be considered for appointment as Tutors against available vacancies.
Such engagement will initially be temporary for six months and may be extended, but the maximum period will be one year.
The appointment will automatically terminate once a candidate possessing the prescribed postgraduate qualification joins.
Maximum Age Limit
The maximum age limit for applying is 45 years.
However, for Community Medicine and Forensic Medicine, the upper age limit is 50 years as on the cutoff date mentioned in the advertisement, for both in-service and non-in-service candidates.
Waiting List
A waiting list will remain valid for a period of three months from the date of issuance of the selection list.
Agreement and Notice Period
Selected candidates will have to execute an agreement as prescribed under S.O. 364 of 2020 dated 27 November 2020.
The selected candidate is required to serve the sanctioned tenure. If the engagement is abandoned or terminated before completion, a one-month prior notice from either side is required. In case the required notice is not given, the salary for one month will not be paid.
