The Government Polytechnic College Poonch (Sathra), Jammu & Kashmir, has invited applications from eligible candidates who are domiciled in the UT of Jammu & Kashmir for engagement as Guest Faculty for the Academic Session November–December 2026.
The engagement will be made on a need basis, subject to the availability of clear vacancies. Interested and eligible candidates can submit their applications along with self-attested documents in the prescribed format.

Vacancies and Educational Qualification
Applications are invited for Guest Faculty in the following disciplines:
1. Electronics and Communication Engineering
Candidates must possess B.Tech/B.E. in Electronics & Communication Engineering from a recognized University/Institute with a minimum of 55% marks.
2. Electrical Engineering
Candidates must hold B.Tech/B.E. in Electrical Engineering from a recognized University/Institute with at least 55% marks.
3. Civil Engineering

Candidates must have B.Tech/B.E. in Civil Engineering from a recognized University/Institute with a minimum of 55% marks.
4. Language and Communication Skills
Candidates must possess a Master’s Degree in English from a recognized University/Institute with at least 55% marks.
5. Physics
Candidates must have a Master’s Degree in Physics from a recognized University/Institute with a minimum of 55% marks.
6. Chemistry
Candidates must hold a Master’s Degree in Chemistry from a recognized University/Institute with at least 55% marks.
7. Mathematics
Candidates must possess a Master’s Degree in Mathematics from a recognized University/Institute with a minimum of 55% marks.
Selection Criteria
The selection of Guest Faculty will be carried out as per Directorate Order No. 37 of 2023 dated 24 January 2023. The merit/selection criteria include:
80 points for basic qualification on a pro-rata basis.

5 points for higher qualification.
5 points for qualifying NET/SET/GATE, as applicable.
5 points for teaching experience at Polytechnic Diploma level or higher level, calculated on a pro-rata basis. One point will be awarded for each academic year.
5 points for interaction with the concerned candidates.
Remuneration
The selected Guest Faculty will be paid remuneration in accordance with the terms and conditions prescribed under Government Order No. 89-JK(DSD) of 2021 dated 18 November 2021.
Terms and Conditions
The engagement will be subject to the following conditions:
The engagement of Guest Faculty will be purely on guest faculty norms and will be valid only for the concerned academic session.
The engagement will be made only against a clear vacancy.
Remuneration will be paid strictly as per the applicable Government norms.
Selected candidates will be required to submit an undertaking/affidavit duly authenticated by a First Class Magistrate before joining. The undertaking must clearly state that the candidate will not claim continuation of services and that the agreement/engagement may be terminated at any point of time without any notice period.
