NRSC has notified 20 distinct post codes across six position categories. Vacancy numbers are described as provisional. A few posts under Research Scientist and Project Associate-II are specifically earmarked for the Regional Remote Sensing Centre (RRSC), North, New Delhi, and a few Junior Research Fellow posts are earmarked for RRSC-South, Bengaluru, as noted below.

For JRF post codes (JRF30 to JRF35), candidates must additionally hold a postgraduate degree obtained through a process such as National Eligibility Test (CSIR-UGC NET, including lectureship/Assistant Professorship) and GATE, or through national-level examinations conducted by central  government departments/agencies such as DST, DBT, DAE, DOS, DRDO, MHRD, ICAR, ICMR, IIT, IISc, or IISER, with a valid score card in the relevant discipline.
Each post code is attached to a specific NRSC/ISRO research project (for example, glacial lake and GLOF hazard studies, ground station automation, GeoAI-based encroachment monitoring, NICES climate and ocean-related studies, and horticulture/agriculture remote sensing applications). The full list of projects mapped to each post code is given in the official notification.

All degrees must be recognised by AICTE/UGC or an organisation authorised by the Government of India, and must have been completed within the stipulated duration prescribed by the university. Only candidates who have already passed out are eligible – those awaiting final results should not apply. Candidates who completed a B.Tech/M.Tech through Open and Distance Learning (ODL) are not eligible. Rounding of percentage/CGPA is not allowed; marks must be entered to the nearest two decimal points. For dual/integrated degree programmes, specific rules apply for calculating CGPA/percentage separately or cumulatively, as detailed in the notification.

Ex-Servicemen and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) are eligible for upper age relaxation as per Government of India orders. Candidates claiming relaxation must submit relevant certificates issued by competent authorities.
Application Fee
Each application attracts a non-refundable fee of ₹250, payable online only through the Bharatkosh payment gateway (no cash, cheque, draft, money order, or IPO is accepted). The last date for fee payment is the same as the application closing date – there is no extension.
The ₹250 fee is refunded for all Women, SC/ST/PwBD, and Ex-Servicemen candidates, subject to meeting the eligibility criteria and participating in the selection process (i.e., appearing for the interview). Refunds are made only to the bank account details submitted in the application; NRSC is not responsible for failed refunds due to incorrect bank details, and no refund is considered if a candidate does not appear for interview. Any service charges levied by the payment platform are borne by the applicant.

*HRA is paid at prescribed rates if accommodation is not provided at the place of posting. Female candidates are eligible for maternity leave as per Government of India rules, and selected candidates are eligible for medical benefits for self as per NRSC/ISRO rules. Selected candidates will not be entitled to other benefits or concessions admissible to regular employees, and these provisions may change as per  government policy from time to time.
Selection Process
Meeting the minimum qualification does not automatically qualify a candidate for interview – NRSC reserves the right to screen applications and fix additional shortlisting criteria as necessary.
Screened-in/shortlisted candidates are called for an interview before a Selection Committee; only shortlisted candidates are contacted, and call letters are sent by email only.

Documents uploaded during application are verified at the time of interview; mere admission to the interview does not guarantee selection.
Positions
All positions are purely temporary, for a period of one year (subject to the project’s validity), extendable further based on performance in periodic review or co-terminus with the project – up to a maximum of five years for JRF and Research Scientist posts. Positions approved for a specific project cannot be adjusted against any other project. Selected candidates have no claim or right to regular appointment in NRSC/ISRO/Department of Space, and NRSC reserves the right to terminate services at any time without notice or reason.

Visit the official NRSC careers portal at https://www.nrsc.gov.in/Career_Apply, available from 01.08.2026 (10:00 hrs) to 21.08.2026 (17:00 hrs).
Register online and note down the online Registration Number generated after registration for future reference.
Furnish a correct and active e-mail ID and mobile number, since all further communication will be sent only to the registered e-mail ID or posted on the NRSC website.
Upload the required documents (photograph, signature, educational certificates, GATE/NET proof where applicable, and category certificates where applicable).
Complete payment of the ₹250 application fee through the Bharatkosh payment gateway; download the e-receipt for future reference.
Log in again to the e-recruitment portal after successful payment to complete final submission of the application.
Download the personalised registration confirmation form containing your name, registration number, advertisement number, and post code, for future reference.
Important Instructions
Candidates intending to apply for more than one post must submit a separate online application for each post.
Incomplete applications (without photograph, signature, mark-sheets, caste/category certificate, or date-of-birth proof) will be rejected outright.
In case of multiple applications for the same post, only the latest application submitted before the closing date will be considered.
Outstation candidates called for interview will be paid sleeper-class railway fare or non-AC bus fare (whichever is less) by the shortest route, on production of tickets – only candidates permitted to interview after document verification are eligible for this travel allowance.
Selected JRFs are encouraged to register for a PhD from a recognised university on a relevant research topic, though this may require additional time beyond the fellowship tenure.
Candidates with degrees from foreign universities must produce an equivalence certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), New Delhi.
Only Indian nationals may apply, and canvassing in any form will disqualify a candidate.
In case of any ambiguity between the Hindi and English versions of the notification, the English version prevails.
Any corrigendum related to eligibility requirements or number of posts will be notified only on the NRSC website, not in newspapers.
