The registration process will be treated as complete only after the prescribed application fee has been successfully deposited online.

Candidates should ensure that they meet the applicable conditions for each relaxation claimed.
2.5 General category treatment on merit
A candidate belonging to a reserved category may also qualify under the General Category if their examination score is sufficiently high.

The candidate will not consume a reserved-category vacancy.
The original category entered during online registration will remain unchanged.

If two or more candidates obtain the same score, the older candidate will be placed higher in the merit list.
Therefore, date of birth will be used to resolve a tie.

Prescribed age limit.
Educational qualification.
Domicile of Ladakh
Only candidates possessing domicile of the Union Territory of Ladakh are eligible.
Selected candidates will have to produce a domicile certificate issued by the competent authority.
A candidate who does not satisfy the domicile requirement cannot claim eligibility merely because they reside in Ladakh or have studied there.

Minimum age: 20 years.
Maximum age: 30 years.
The candidate must have been born:
Not earlier than 1 January 1996.
Not later than 1 January 2006.
Both dates are inclusive.
Age relaxation
Age relaxation will be provided to eligible reserved-category candidates according to the applicable reservation rules.
J&K Bank apprentices who successfully completed apprenticeship training will receive an additional one-year relaxation over and above their applicable category relaxation.

An institution or qualification recognised as equivalent by the Central Government or UGC.
The graduation qualification must be completed by the last date of registration.

These documents may include:

Category certificate.
Disability certificate, where applicable.
Other documents specified in the application.
Once the online application has been registered, a change of category will not be permitted.
Therefore, candidates must select their category carefully.
Merely appearing in the examination or being shortlisted does not guarantee employment.
Calculation of graduation percentage
The percentage must be calculated to two decimal places in the online application.
If the university awards CGPA or OGPA instead of percentage marks, the candidate must convert it into percentage according to the university’s prescribed conversion formula.
A certificate issued by the appropriate authority confirming the conversion norms and the candidate’s equivalent percentage must be produced.
Formula prescribed in the notification:
\[ \text{Percentage} = \frac{\text{Total marks obtained in all subjects}} {\text{Aggregate maximum marks in all subjects}} \times 100 \]
The calculation includes all subjects across all semesters or years, including honours, optional and additional optional subjects, where applicable.
This rule also applies to universities where the final class or grade is determined using honours marks.
Important examples:
59.99% will be treated as less than 60%.
54.99% will be treated as less than 55%.
The fraction of the percentage arrived at will be ignored.

Candidates must ensure that the certificate is valid at the relevant stage and is produced in the prescribed format.
8. F. EXAMINATION STRUCTURE
The recruitment examination will be conducted online.
The examination consists of three objective tests:
English Language.
Quantitative Aptitude.
Reasoning Ability.
8.1 Detailed examination pattern
| Subject | Questions | Maximum marks | Time |
|---|---|---|---|
| English Language | 30 | 30 | 20 minutes |
| Quantitative Aptitude | 35 | 30 | 20 minutes |
| Reasoning Ability | 35 | 40 | 20 minutes |
| Total | 100 | 100 | 60 minutes |
Examination overview : 100
8.2 English Language
Number of questions: 30.
Maximum marks: 30.
Time: 20 minutes.
Medium: English.
This section tests the candidate’s command of the English language.
Common preparation areas include grammar, vocabulary, comprehension and sentence structure. These are suggested preparation topics, not a separate official syllabus provided in the notification.
8.3 Quantitative Aptitude
Number of questions: 35.
Maximum marks: 30.
Time: 20 minutes.
Medium: English.
This section tests numerical ability and mathematical problem-solving skills.
Arithmetic, calculations, numerical interpretation and mathematical reasoning are useful preparation areas.
8.4 Reasoning Ability
Number of questions: 35.
Maximum marks: 40.
Time: 20 minutes.
Medium: English.
This section assesses logical thinking, analytical ability and problem-solving.
Candidates may prepare topics such as puzzles, seating arrangements, coding-decoding, inequalities and logical reasoning. These are preparation suggestions rather than an officially enumerated syllabus.
Separate sectional timing
Each section has an independent time limit of 20 minutes.
The total examination duration is 60 minutes.
Candidates should manage their time carefully because the time allotted to one section is separately controlled.
8.6 Qualifying requirements
Candidates must qualify in each of the three tests by obtaining the cut-off marks decided by IBPS in consultation with J&K Bank.
The notification also states that the bank may modify the examination structure and communicate any changes through its official website.
8.7 Process for calculating examination scores
The bank follows a prescribed method for calculating examination scores.
Step 1: Correct answers
The number of correctly answered questions is considered.
Step 2: Penalty for incorrect answers
Marks are deducted for wrong answers according to the negative-marking rule.
Step 3: Corrected score
After deducting penalties, the candidate’s corrected score is calculated.
Step 4: Equated score
If examinations are conducted in different sessions and the difficulty levels differ slightly, scores are equated to account for those differences.
This process aims to ensure fairness among candidates who may have received different examination forms.
Step 5: Final score reporting
Test-wise scores and the total score will be reported up to two decimal places.
8.8 Negative marking
1/4 negative marking
The notification prescribes a penalty of one-fourth of the marks assigned to a question for every incorrect answer.
For an unanswered question, no penalty will be imposed.
Examples:
| Marks assigned to question | Penalty for wrong answer |
|---|---|
| 1 mark | 0.25 mark |
| 2 marks | 0.50 mark |
| 3 marks | 0.75 mark |
| 4 marks | 1 mark |
For example, if a question carries one mark and the candidate answers it incorrectly, 0.25 marks will be deducted.
Therefore, random guessing may reduce the final score.
8.9 Cut-off marks
Candidates must obtain:
The minimum qualifying score in each individual test.
The minimum required aggregate score.
The cut-offs will be decided according to the number of vacancies and applicable recruitment requirements.
The notification specifies the following minimum aggregate qualifying percentages at each stage:
| Category | Minimum aggregate qualifying marks |
|---|---|
| General Category | 40% |
| Reserved Category | 35% |
These percentages are subject to overall merit.
For a 100-mark examination, the corresponding aggregate figures are 40 marks and 35 marks respectively.
However, merely obtaining these minimum percentages does not guarantee selection. Candidates must also satisfy the individual test cut-offs and other selection requirements.
8.10 Marks considered for provisional selection
The notification expressly states that only marks obtained in the online examination will be considered for shortlisting and provisional selection, according to the applicable reservation rules and other selection parameters.
8.11 Abnormal similarity of responses
The bank will analyse candidates’ answers to detect abnormal similarities.
This is intended to identify copying, sharing of answers or other examination irregularities.
If the analysis establishes suspicious similarities, the bank may take appropriate action.
8.12 Examination centres
Candidates must select six examination centres.
Out of these six, at least four must be situated outside the Union Territory of Ladakh.
The notification provides the following centres.
Within Ladakh
Leh.
Kargil.
Outside Ladakh

Requests to change the examination centre, venue, date or session will not be entertained.
The bank may cancel or add examination centres depending on administrative requirements.
The bank may allot a centre different from the candidate’s preferences.
Candidates must attend the examination at their own risk and expense.
Unfair means or misconduct at the examination centre may result in cancellation of candidature and disqualification from future examinations.
If insufficient candidates select a particular centre, the bank may allot another centre.
If a centre exceeds its available capacity, candidates may be shifted to another centre.

9.5 Reporting time
Candidates who report after the reporting time mentioned in their call letter will not be allowed to take the examination.
