Selection Process :

Candidates wondering about the RBI Site Engineer selection process can note that there is no written exam for this recruitment. Selection happens through preliminary screening by a Screening Committee, followed by document verification and a personal interview.

Step-by-Step Selection Methodology

Screening & Shortlisting: The Screening Committee may enhance minimum qualification or experience criteria to limit the number of candidates called, in proportion to the number of vacancies. Merely meeting minimum eligibility does not guarantee an interview call.

Interview Call Letter: Shortlisted candidates receive their call letter only via email from [email protected] — no postal call letters are issued.

Document Verification: Candidates must produce up-to-date Experience Certificates clearly stating nature of duties, dates, duration, level/position, and responsibilities, along with category, age, and qualification proofs.

Interview: Candidates discuss their anticipated compensation (within the advertised range) along with previous employer compensation details before the interview, which is considered by the Selection Committee.

Final Selection: The RBI Services Board’s decision on eligibility, shortlisting, and interview results is final and binding, with no further correspondence entertained.

Common Mistakes to Avoid While Applying for RBI Site Engineer 2026

Many candidates risk rejection due to avoidable errors during the RBI Site Engineer online application process. Reviewing these common mistakes beforehand can help ensure your application is processed without issues.

Writing the declaration in capital letters or another language: The handwritten declaration must be in English, in the candidate’s own handwriting, and not in capital letters — non-compliant declarations make the application invalid.

Expecting age relaxation: Unlike many  government recruitments, RBI has explicitly stated no age relaxation is available for any category in this notification, so candidates must meet the 40-65 year window strictly.

Submitting multiple incomplete applications: If multiple applications are filed for the same post, only the last completed one with the higher Registration ID is considered, and the fee from the earlier RID is not adjusted.

Uploading documents in the wrong format: Photograph and signature must be JPG/JPEG, while all other supporting documents must be in PDF format within the specified size limits.

Not informing current employer: Government/PSU employees must submit an undertaking confirming they have informed their employer in writing about applying, or their candidature may be rejected.

Ignoring OBC NCL certificate dating: OBC candidates need a Non-Creamy Layer certificate issued on or after 01 April 2026 — older certificates based on different financial years won’t be accepted.
