The Jammu & Kashmir Government has clarified that no decision has been taken to declare summer vacations for schools in Kashmir from July 1, dismissing reports circulating on social media as false.

Education Minister Sakina Itoo and senior officials have indicated that summer vacations are likely to begin from the second week of July, subject to a final review of weather conditions

The latest clarification from the School Education Department comes after rumours spread on social media claiming that summer vacations would begin from July 1, 2026.
