Experience equivalence (Cluster-I, Manager posts only – not stated for Assistant Manager posts in the source): Govt./PSU/Autonomous Organization candidates need 5 years’ total experience with at least 2 years in the IDA pay scale of Rs. 40,000–1,40,000 or CDA Level 7 of the 7th CPC pay matrix (or equivalent). Private-sector candidates need 5 years’ total experience with an annual CTC of at least Rs. 16.27 LPA as on the last date of application.
Common Eligibility Notes (Both Clusters)
UR/EWS candidates (and SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/PWD candidates applying against unreserved posts) need a First Class degree/minimum 60% marks; reserved-category candidates need at least 50% marks for consideration against reserved posts.
The degree must be recognized by AICTE/UGC (as applicable), from a University/Institution established or incorporated as prescribed by law; Sections A & B of the Institution of Engineers (India) examination is also accepted as equivalent.
If the certificate/marksheet does not show First Class/percentage, the applicant must submit the university’s CGPA-to-percentage conversion formula; absent a formula, an institutional undertaking is required, and 6/10 on a 10-point scale will be treated as 60%.

Training (except on-the-job), internship, teaching, academic, fellowship or PhD research experience does NOT count as experience; Apprenticeship Act, 1961 training in the relevant discipline does count, subject to other eligibility conditions.
Date of acquiring qualification is the earliest of: last day of the month of the final qualifying exam, date of declaration of result, date of issuance of marksheet, or date of issuance of degree – no relaxation is given on this account.

Age relaxation (common to both clusters): RITES regular/contract employees meeting the qualification and experience criteria get 5 years’ relaxation over the upper age limit. Additional relaxation: SC/ST – 5 years; OBC-NCL – 3 years; J&K Domicile – 5 years; Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD) – 10 years (in addition to SC/ST/OBC-NCL relaxation where applicable), subject to the post being identified suitable for PwBD and production of required certificates. PwBD relaxation applies irrespective of whether the post is reserved, provided it is identified suitable for PwBD as per the notified table (Civil discipline: Locomotor disability and Hearing Impairment categories are identified suitable, per the respective cluster’s table).

Pay will be fixed at the minimum of the scale. In addition to Basic Pay, selected candidates get DA, fixed/variable allowances, Performance Related Pay, medical facilities, HRA/lease accommodation, PF, Gratuity, Post-Retirement Medical Scheme, leave as per rules, Maternity/Paternity Leave, Group Insurance and Leave Encashment. Employees appointed on regular basis from other PSUs/Govt. organizations who applied through proper channel or submitted an NOC at interview are eligible for pay protection (Basic+DA) as per Company policy.
Selection Process
Cluster-I – Manager & Assistant Manager (Written Test + Interview)
Written Test: 125 objective-type questions, 1 mark each, duration 2.5 hours. No negative marking. PwBD candidates get 50 minutes’ compensatory time. Qualifying marks: minimum 50% for UR/EWS, 45% for SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/PwBD against reserved posts.
Document Scrutiny: Based on written-test results and vacancies, RITES scrutinizes submitted documents; shortlisted candidates are called for interview preceded by original document verification.
Interview: Candidates are called in the ratio of 1:6 to the number of vacancies. Weightage: Written Test – 60%; Interview – 40% (Technical & Professional proficiency 30, Personality/Communication/Competency 10). Minimum interview marks: 60% for UR/EWS, 50% for SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/PWD against reserved posts. No minimum qualifying marks are required in the aggregate.
Test centers (tentative, subject to number of candidates and RITES’ discretion, except Delhi/Gurgaon): Delhi/Gurgaon, Kolkata, Bangalore, Mumbai, Bhubaneswar, Guwahati. Candidates give two center preferences; RITES reserves the right to allot any center.
Cluster-II – DGM (Interview Only, No Written Test)
Document Scrutiny: Submitted documents are scrutinized; eligible candidates are called for original document verification and the selection process.
Interview: Weightage – Interview 100% (Technical & Professional proficiency 65%, Personality/Communication/Competency 35%). Minimum interview marks: 60% for UR/EWS, 50% for SC/ST/OBC(NCL)/PWD against reserved posts. No minimum qualifying marks are required in the aggregate.
Common to Both Clusters
Candidates may appear for the selection process in Hindi or English.
Based on requirement and RITES’ discretion, the written test and/or interview may be conducted from Regional Offices, intimated via call letters.
Appointment is subject to being found medically fit as per RITES Rules and Standards of Medical Fitness for the relevant post.
Selected candidates will be on probation for 1 year and must clear a screening test for confirmation; failure may extend probation.
Selected candidates are liable for posting anywhere in India or abroad as per Company requirements. An employee’s application will not be forwarded for outside jobs until 2 years of RITES service is completed.

Upload all supporting documents under the “Upload Document” section, substantiating your eligibility claims (list in the Documents section below).
Make the online payment under the “Make Payment” section; download the final application form after successful payment.
Applications without successful fee payment are treated as incomplete and summarily rejected.
Submit only one application per vacancy; the application cannot be altered once submitted.

Important Conditions
Management reserves the right to cancel/restrict/enlarge/modify/alter the selection process at any stage without notice; the number of vacancies may vary.
Candidates from Government organizations/PSUs joining RITES must first be properly relieved from their parent organization.
If a candidate is found not to fulfil eligibility norms, or has furnished incorrect/false information or suppressed material facts, their candidature is liable for cancellation – even after appointment, in which case services are liable to be terminated.
Any corrigendum/addendum will be displayed only on www.rites.com; applicants should keep checking for updates.
An offer letter is not proof of experience; joining/relieving order or experience certificate is required to claim experience.
Legal jurisdiction for any dispute is Delhi. No fares/TA/DA is payable for the selection process.
Where a specialization is required in the qualifying degree, a certificate from the University/Institution specifically confirming the specialization must be submitted.
OBC-NCL and EWS certificates must not be older than one year on the cut-off date (last date of application); non-compliance means the candidate will be considered under General (UR) vacancies only, if otherwise eligible.
