The Sher-i-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS), Srinagar, Government of Jammu and Kashmir, has issued an official recruitment advertisement inviting applications from eligible candidates for various positions under an ICMR-approved research project.

The recruitment is being conducted for a multicentric clinical research project titled “A Multicentric Phase III Randomized Controlled Trial of Neoadjuvant Hypofractionated Concurrent Chemoradiation versus Standard Neoadjuvant Concurrent Chemoradiation in Resectable Esophageal Cancer.”

The project has been approved by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), Department of Health Research, Government of India.

Vacancy Details

SKIMS has advertised a total of four vacancies under the research project. The positions and corresponding number of vacancies are given below.

1. Project Research Scientist-II (Non-Medical)

Number of Posts: 01

Candidates applying for this position must fulfil one of the following educational and experience requirements:

– First-class postgraduate degree with three years of experience or a PhD.

OR

– Second-class postgraduate degree with a PhD and three years of experience.

Desirable Qualification and Experience:

Candidates having relevant experience in handling multicentric research projects and clinical research data will be given preference.

Applicants with practical experience in research coordination, clinical research activities and management of research-related data may have an advantage.

2. Project Technical Support-II

Number of Posts: 01

Candidates applying for the Project Technical Support-II position must possess:

Desirable Qualification and Experience :

Candidates having relevant research experience and higher qualifications will be preferred.

Applicants with practical exposure to laboratory-related research activities and experience in the relevant research field may be considered favourably.

3. Project Nurse-I

Candidates interested in applying for the Project Nurse-I position must possess:

– A Two-Year General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) course from a recognized university.

 

Desirable Qualification and Experience :

Candidates having relevant research experience and higher qualifications will be preferred.

Salary / Remuneration

Important Terms and Conditions

1. Temporary Appointment

All advertised positions will be filled purely on a temporary basis under the sanctioned research project. These appointments will not be considered regular government appointments.

 

2. Project Duration

Initially, the project will be for a period of 12 months. However, the project may be extended up to three years based on the performance of the selected candidates.

The candidates will not have any right to claim regular appointment at SKIMS after the termination of the project.

The advertisement further states that the positions are extendable up to approximately three years and will be advertised after three years.

 

3. No TA/DA

No Travelling Allowance (TA) or Dearness Allowance (DA) will be provided to candidates for attending the interview or joining the position.

4. Recognition of Qualification and Experience

5. Experience Calculation
