Essential Qualification

Eligibility A :

Candidates should possess:

A Master’s degree with 55% marks or an equivalent grade in the concerned/relevant/allied subject from an Indian University or an equivalent degree from an accredited foreign university.

A Ph.D. degree, with coursework, in the concerned/relevant/allied subject as prescribed under the applicable UGC regulations.

NET conducted by UGC, ICAR, CSIR or a similar accredited SLET/SET on the last date of application.

NET/SLET/SET is not mandatory for disciplines where these examinations are not conducted by ICAR, UGC or CSIR.

Eligibility B

Candidates possessing a Ph.D. degree from a foreign university/institution ranked among the top 500 in the World University Ranking at any time by QS, Times Higher Education (THE), or ARWU of Shanghai Jiao Tong University are also eligible.

Minimum Desirable Skills and Experience

Candidates should have adequate knowledge of the basic theoretical and applied aspects of their discipline, supported by strong academic performance.

They should also possess effective communication skills for teaching responsibilities, knowledge of NEP-2020 and its application to Agricultural Education, modern teaching pedagogies, student engagement and mentoring skills.

Strong science communication skills and scholarly output, including publications in reputed scientific journals and a higher h-index/i10-index, are desirable.

Terms and Conditions

The engagement will be purely temporary and on an academic arrangement basis until the end of the academic year 2026–27 or until the post is filled through regular appointment, whichever is earlier.

Selected candidates will receive consolidated monthly remuneration as per SKUAST-K regulations. The remuneration will be payable from the date of physical joining at the assigned place of posting.

Performance will be evaluated periodically, and unsatisfactory or under-performance may result in termination without notice.

Contractual service will not give candidates any right to claim extension, regular appointment or absorption in SKUAST-K service.

Candidates must not be enrolled in any academic degree programme or employed in any government or non-government organization during the period of engagement. Violation of this condition will result in cancellation of the engagement and appropriate action under rules.

The University reserves the right to defer or cancel any of the engagements.

Eligible candidates will be informed about the interview schedule through email only.

Candidates appearing for the interview must bring a brief biodata containing complete academic and personal details along with self-attested documentary proof.

The application fee of ₹500 must be deposited through the online portal. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
