Thus, candidates with the required qualifications and experience in the relevant disciplines can apply for these Associate Professor-cum-Senior Scientist positions.

Educational Qualification

Candidates applying for the advertised posts must have a good academic record and a Ph.D. degree in the concerned discipline.

They must also possess a Master’s Degree with at least 55% marks in the relevant discipline or an equivalent grade under the applicable grading system.

In addition, applicants are required to have at least 8 years of teaching, research and/or extension experience in an academic, research or extension position equivalent to Assistant Professor/Junior Scientist in a University, College, Accredited Research Institution or Industry.

Candidates must also have at least 7 publications in NAAS-rated, peer-reviewed or UGC-listed journals and a minimum research score of 75 as prescribed in the notification. The research publications must relate to the relevant domain.

Selection Process

The selection process gives significant importance to the candidate’s academic, research and extension achievements.

The Academic/Research/Extension Score carries 80% weightage, while the interview carries 20% weightage.

The candidate’s teaching, research and extension aptitude may also be assessed through a seminar, classroom lecture or discussion during the interview.

Candidates are expected to demonstrate strong knowledge of their subject, effective communication skills, teaching excellence, research leadership, scholarly output and the ability to contribute to institutional development.

The selected Associate Professor-cum-Senior Scientist will be expected to contribute to several areas, including:

Curriculum development and academic reforms.

Development of new courses and e-content.

Guiding early-career scientists in research.

Undertaking innovative and translational research.

Developing technologies and solutions with commercial potential.

Securing extramural research funding.

Age Limit

The candidate’s age should be not less than 22 years and not more than 55 years as on January 1, 2026.

The upper age limit is relaxable in the case of persons already employed with SKUAST-Kashmir, as specified in the notification.

Application Fee

The application fee is:

₹2,000 per application for candidates under the general fee category.

₹1,500 per application for reserved-category candidates.

The fee can be paid only through Net Banking, Credit Card or Debit Card. Candidates applying for more than one post must submit a separate application for each position.

After completing the online application, candidates must take a printout of the submitted application form. The downloaded application form, filled-in score card, self-attested copies of supporting documents, certificates and testimonials must be submitted/sent to:
