Khonmoh Encounter: One More Militant Killed Toll Reach 2, Search On

Encounter Underway On Srinagar Outskirts

One more militant has been killed in an ongoing encounter that broke out in the Khonmoh area of Srinagar district on Monday, taking the toll of slain militants to two.

A joint team of Police and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation in Khonmoh.

As the joint team of forces encircled the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering off a gunfight, an official said.

“Two unidentified militants have been killed in the gunfight. The searches are going on in the area,” an official said

A gunfight broke out Monday morning between militants and security forces in Khonmoh area on Srinagar outskirts, police said.

A police spokesperson while confirming the exchange of fire said that security forces have cordoned the area. The number of trapped militants and their affiliation was not immediately known.

“Encounter has started at Khanmoh area of Srinagar. Police and security forces are on the job. Further details shall follow, ” the police spokesperson tweeted this morning
