J&K College Admissions 2026: FYUGP & Integrated PG Admissions to Begin Soon Without CUET
The Directorate of Colleges, Higher Education Department J&K has released an Admission Awareness Notice dated 16 April 2026, notifying students about the forthcoming admission process for Four-Year Undergraduate Programmes (FYUGP) and Integrated Postgraduate Programmes for the Academic Session 2026–27. According to the notice, admissions in all Government Degree Colleges across Jammu & Kashmir will commence shortly, with several reforms being implemented in line with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
Admission Process for FYUGP & Integrated PG Programmes
The Higher Education Department has outlined a clear, transparent, and student-friendly admission framework for the upcoming session.
1. Merit-Based Admissions (No CUET)
Undergraduate admissions will be granted solely on the basis of 10+2 marks, removing the need for CUET this year. This ensures a simplified and equitable process for students from JKBOSE, CBSE, and other recognised boards.
2. Centralised Online Admission Portal
A single unified portal will be introduced where applicants must:
Complete online registration
Submit application forms
Choose preferred courses and colleges
📌 The portal link and registration dates will be announced soon through an official notification.
3. Preference-Based Allotment System
Applicants will be required to:
Indicate preferred colleges
Select desired programmes
👉 Final seat allotment will be based on:
Class 12 merit
Choices filled by the candidates
This system promotes transparency while allowing students greater control over their options.
