GMC Anantnag Selection Notice 2026 Released for Senior Residency Post
Government Medical College (GMC), Anantnag has officially issued a selection notification for the engagement of a Senior Resident in the Department of Pathology. The selection has been made against a newly available vacancy that arose after the relieving of the previously appointed doctor.

Background
GMC Anantnag had earlier invited applications for tenure posts of Senior Residents (In-service/Not In-service Doctors) under:
Advertisement Notice No. 07 GMCA of 2026 dated 02.04.2026
Read with Notification No. 06 GMCA of 2026 dated 28.04.2026
The recruitment process was conducted in accordance with the eligibility criteria and policy guidelines issued under:
Government Order No. 383-JK (HME) of 2024 dated 20.06.2024
Since the number of applicants exceeded the available vacancies, a written examination was conducted on 06 June 2026 at the Main Campus, Dialgam, as per Government Order No. 382-JK (HME) of 2024 dated 20.06.2024.
The merit list of candidates who appeared in the written examination was published through a notification dated 12 June 2026.
Initially, one vacancy in the Department of Pathology was filled through Notification No. 10 GMCA of 2026 dated 29 June 2026.
Subsequently, one additional vacancy became available after the relieving of Dr. Zarkah Nabi. Therefore, the next eligible candidate in the merit list has now been selected.

The following candidate has been selected for the post of Senior Resident in the Department of Pathology:

Note: As per the notification issued on 12 June 2026, in case of a tie in merit, preference is given to the candidate with the earlier date of birth.
Reporting Instructions
The selected candidate must report to the Office of the Principal, Government Medical College, Anantnag within 7 days from the date of issuance of the notification.
The candidate must also submit the online form through the Employee Verification System (EVS) for verification of character and antecedents.
Documents Required
The selected candidate must produce the following documents:
Coloured copy of the application form.
Photocopies of all uploaded certificates.
An affidavit attested by a First Class Judicial Magistrate stating that:
The candidate is a domicile of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir and possesses all required certificates.
If applying as a fresh candidate, he/she has not previously served as a Senior Resident/Demonstrator in or outside J&K.
Candidates who have already completed 30 months or less of Senior Residency/Demonstratorship must clearly mention the duration and institution where the service was rendered.
All information furnished in the application form is true and no material facts have been concealed.
Important Instructions
Failure to report within the stipulated period will result in automatic forfeiture of the selection without any further notice.
Mere issuance of this notification does not confer any right to appointment or engagement. Appointment will be subject to completion of all required formalities and verification.
