Seven rescued, two missing: officials
A boat carrying nine non-locals capsized in Hatiwara area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Wednesday evening.
Reports said that a boat capsized at Hatiwara, with nine non-locals on board. However, seven persons were rescued.
They said that the rescue operation for the other two missing persons has been started, with teams of SDRF and police on the job.
A police officer said efforts are ongoing to retrieve the other two missing persons, reported news agency Kashmir Scroll.
The incident comes just weeks after a boat capsize claimed eight lives in Gandbal area of Srinagar. One person is still missing and
efforts are still underway to fish out his body from the Jhelum river.
