A delegation representing the 10+2 Contractual Lecturers Forum, Ladakh, today met the Hon’ble Member of Parliament, Haji Hanifa Jan, at his office in Kargil to raise the long-standing issue of salary enhancement for contractual lecturers.

During the meeting, the delegation recalled that the enhancement had been assured last year by the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh and the Secretary, School Education Department, Ladakh. They further stated that the Secretary had promised implementation of the revised salary from the academic session 2026–27.

Despite these assurances, no formal order has been issued to date, causing increasing concern among contractual lecturers.

The delegation appealed to the Hon’ble MP to intervene and facilitate early implementation of the promised salary enhancement, aligned with the basic pay structure of lecturers in the School Education Department, Ladakh.

The forum expressed optimism that the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor and the concerned authorities would issue the necessary orders at the earliest.

They also requested the Hon’ble Member of Parliament to take up the matter with the Secretary, School Education Department, to ensure a swift resolution.
