Traffic movement was particularly affected due to single-lane stretches between Nashri and Banihal, Udhampur, along with the breakdown of vehicles at Dewal and Nachilana and the movement of nomadic herds crossing the Banihal-Nachilana stretch.

Owing to slow movement of nomadic herds, traffic on the single-lane stretch from Mughal to Kishtwar Pathar was also affected. Commuters have been advised to exercise caution and avoid overtaking.

Traffic at Dewal, Udhampur

Traffic on NH-44 at Dewal, Udhampur was being managed in a regulated manner due to the single-lane stretch. Traffic movement in the area was reported to be approximately 30–40 vehicles per minute.

Advisory for Passengers and LMV Operators

Passengers and LMV operators have been advised to prefer journeys during the daytime.

Night travel should be avoided because of the apprehension of shooting stones/landslides, movement of nomadic herds from the Valley and ongoing construction work between Ramban and Banihal.
