TRAFFIC PLAN & ADVISORY FOR 15-03-2026

From 13-03-2026, 1600 hrs to 14-03-2026, 1600 hrs, slow movement was observed on NH-44 due to a single lane traffic between Marog and Kishtwari Pather, in addition to the breakdown of HMVs.

Passengers/LMV operators are advised to prefer journey on Jammu-Srinagar NHW during daytime. Night travel should be avoided due to apprehension of shooting stones/landslides, as well as ongoing construction work between Ramban and Banihal which may cause inconvenience.

Commuters are advised to follow lane discipline; overtaking and wrong lane driving will cause congestion.

NH-44 (NHW)

Subject to fair weather and better road conditions, LMVs Passenger/PHPVs/Private Cars/HMVs (Good carrier) shall be allowed from both sides on Jammu-Srinagar NHW (NH-44) i.e., from Jammu towards Srinagar and vice-versa.
TCU Jammu/Srinagar shall coordinate with TCU Ramban regarding road conditions.

SFs Convoy Movement

Subject to fair weather and good road condition, Security Forces vehicles shall be allowed from both sides on Jammu-Srinagar NHW (NH-44) via Jammu towards Srinagar and vice-versa.
Movement shall be allowed after confirming the status of NHW from TCU Ramban.

Kishtwar – Sinthan – Anantnag NH-244

As per order issued by SDM Chatroo vide No. SDM/C/2025-26/1151-59 dated 04-03-2026, subject to fair weather and road condition, after getting green signal from Road Maintenance agencies (NHDDL) only LMVs Passenger/Private Cars shall be allowed from both sides via Kishtwar towards Srinagar and vice-versa via Sinthan Top.

These vehicles shall be allowed:

  • PP Parana → Anantnag (MP Dachan) → Kishtwar

  • Allowed 0900 hrs – 1500 hrs

  • No vehicle allowed after cut-off timing

TCU Jammu/Ramban/TCU Srinagar will inform all concerned about the cut-off timing.

SSG Road

Since traffic movement from Sonamarg towards Kargil could not be allowed for the last five days due to inclement weather and snow accumulation, subject to fair weather and good road condition, after snow clearance by BRO, LMVs equipped with anti-skid chains will be allowed to ply from Srinagar towards Kargil on SSG Road (Srinagar–Sonamarg–Gumri Road).

Due to apprehension of avalanches along the Zojila axis, vehicles will be allowed from Sonamarg towards Kargil only after receiving green signal from road maintenance agencies.

No vehicle shall be allowed after 1500 hrs

Motorists advised to carry anti-skid chains

PCU Srinagar and PCR Kargil will inform all concerned

SFs Convoy from Srinagar to Kargil shall move so that civil traffic is not disturbed

Mughal Road

As per order issued by District Magistrate Shopian DMS/ADM-PS/25-26/4772-4781 dated 26-02-2026 and District Magistrate Poonch No. DMP/J/13043-52 dated 26-02-2026, subject to fair weather and good road condition, after getting green signal from road maintenance agencies (GREF):

Only LMVs Passenger/Private Cars shall be allowed from both sides via Pir Panjal and vice-versa.

Vehicles allowed:

Chandimarg (Bafliaz) → Shopian → Herpora (Shopian)

1100 hrs – 1500 hrs

No vehicle allowed after cut-off timing

TCU Jammu and TCU Srinagar will inform about cut-off timing.
