Jammu Srinagar National Highway Update for 08 Nov 2025

🛣️ NH-44 (Jammu–Srinagar Highway)

Slow movement reported due to single-lane traffic at Bali Nalla, Dewal, Nashri-Dalwas, Marog, and Kishtwari Pathar.

Causes: Breakdown of 2 HMVs and movement of nomadic flocks in that stretch.

Passengers/LWMs: Prefer daytime travel only; night travel not advised between Nashri Tunnel and NAVYUG Tunnel due to heavy HMV and nomadic movement.

Commuters: Follow lane discipline; avoid overtaking and wrong-lane driving.

🚗 Movement Rules

If weather and road conditions are good:

LMVs, Passenger/Private Cars, HPVs, and HMVs (Goods Carriers) will be allowed both ways (Jammu ↔ Srinagar).

Movement will be coordinated by TCU Ramban, Jammu, and Srinagar.

🚛 Security Forces Convoy

Allowed from both directions (Jammu ↔ Srinagar) after confirming NHW status from TCU Ramban.

❄️ Kishtwar–Sinthan–Anantnag Road (NH-244)

Partially open:

Only LMVs allowed both ways after permission from NHIDCL.

Timings:

From Anantnag to Kishtwar – 08:00 hrs – 15:00 hrs

From Kishtwar to Anantnag – 09:00 hrs – 15:00 hrs

🏔️ SSG Road (Sonamarg–Gumri–Kargil)

LMVs allowed from Minamarg → Sonamarg: 05:00 – 10:00 hrs

HMVs allowed from Sonamarg → Kargil: 11:30 – 17:30 hrs

No vehicles allowed after cut-off timings.

Security Forces Convoy to move in coordination to avoid civilian traffic conflict.

🌄 Mughal Road (Poonch–Shopian)

LMVs/Private Cars allowed both ways (Poonch ↔ Srinagar) after clearance from road agencies.

HMVs allowed from Behramgalla (Bafliaz) between 06:00 – 17:00 hrs and from Herpora (Shopian) as per earlier advisories.

No HMVs with six tyres allowed from Shopian to Poonch.

Final clearance from TCU Jammu/Srinagar required.
