TRAFFIC POLICE HEADQUARTERS, J&K, JAMMU / SRINAGAR
Traffic Plan & Advisory for 11-01-2026
From 09-01-2026, 1600 hrs to 10-01-2026, 1600 hrs, there was slow movement observed on NH-44 due to single-lane traffic at Ballinalla, Dewal, Nashri-Dalwas and between Marog and Kishtwari Pather, in addition to the breakdown of 02 HMVs on NH-44.
Advisory for Passengers / LMVs
Passengers and LMV operators are advised to prefer journey on Jammu–Srinagar NHW during daytime.
Avoid night hours, as movement of HMVs between Nashri Tunnel and NAVYUG Tunnel may cause inconvenience.
For Commuters
Follow lane discipline.
Overtaking and wrong-lane driving will cause congestion.
NH-44 (NHW)
LMVs / Passenger / Private Cars / HMVs (Good Carrier)
Subject to fair weather and better road conditions, traffic shall be allowed from both sides on Jammu–Srinagar NH-44 (Jammu ↔ Srinagar).
TCU Jammu shall coordinate with TCU Ramban regarding road condition.
SFS Convoy Movement
Subject to fair weather and good road condition, security forces vehicles shall be allowed from both sides on NH-44 after confirming the road status from TCU Ramban.
Kishtwar – Sinthan – Anantnag NH-244
Closed for vehicular movement due to fresh snow accumulation.
SSG ROAD
Subject to fair weather and after green signal from BRO:
Traffic allowed on Srinagar–Sonamarg–Gumri Road (Kargil ↔ Srinagar).
LMVs followed by HMVs (up to 06 tyres) will be allowed.
Movement timing: 1000 hrs to 1500 hrs.
Vehicles advised to carry anti-skid chains due to slippery road.
TCU Srinagar & PCR Kargil to coordinate.
SFS Convoy from Kargil to Srinagar must plan movement so that civil traffic is not disturbed.
Mughal Road
Closed for vehicular movement due to snow accumulation.
