Jammu Srinagar National Highway Update For 16th March 2026
TRAFFIC PLAN & ADVISORY – 16 March 2026
Road Condition
From 14 March 2026 (4:00 PM) to 15 March 2026 (4:00 PM) there was slow movement on NH-44.
Reason: single lane traffic between Marog and Kishtwari Pathar and breakdown of heavy motor vehicles (HMVs).
Travel Advice
Passenger and LMV operators should travel on Jammu–Srinagar NHW during daytime only.
Night travel should be avoided due to:
Risk of shooting stones/landslides
Ongoing road construction work between Ramban and Banihal.
Rules for Commuters
Drivers should follow:
Lane discipline
No overtaking
Avoid wrong-lane driving
To prevent traffic congestion.
NH-44 (National Highway)
If weather and road conditions remain good:
LMVs, passenger vehicles, HPVs, private cars and HMVs (goods carriers) will be allowed.
Traffic allowed from both sides (Jammu ↔ Srinagar).
Traffic Control Unit (TCU) Jammu/Srinagar will coordinate with TCU Ramban.
Security Forces Convoy
Security forces vehicles will also be allowed from both sides.
Movement will happen only after confirming road status from TCU Ramban.
Roads Closed Due to Snowfall
Kishtwar – Sinthan – Anantnag NH-244
Kishtwar–Sinthan–Anantnag road closed due to fresh snowfall.
SSG Road (Srinagar–Sonamarg–Gumri)
Closed due to snowfall at Zojila Pass.
Mughal Road
Closed due to snowfall at Peer Ki Gali.
