TRAFFIC PLAN & ADVISORY FOR 17-11-2025

NH-44 (Jammu–Srinagar National Highway)

Traffic Status (15–16 Nov 2025):

From 15-11-2025 (1600 hrs) to 16-11-2025 (1600 hrs), slow movement was observed due to a single-lane traffic situation at Ballian, Dellow, Nashri-Dalwas, and between Margo and Kishtwari Pathar.

There was also a breakdown of two heavy motor vehicles (HMVs).

Advisory for Passengers & LMVs:

Prefer journey during day time on Jammu–Srinagar NHW.

Avoid traveling at night because slow movement inside Nashri Tunnel, NAVYUG Tunnel, and HMV migration from Kashmir valley may cause inconvenience.

General Instructions:

Follow lane discipline.

No overtaking, overspeeding, or wrong-lane driving.

LMVs / Passenger Cars (Both Sides):

Subject to fair weather & good road conditions, LMVs and private cars shall be allowed both ways on Jammu–Srinagar NHW (NH-44).

Traffic Control Units (TCU) at Jammu, Srinagar, and Ramban will coordinate and confirm the road status.

Security Forces:

Allowed both sides on NH-44 after getting clearance from TCUs.

Srinagar–Sonamarg–Gumari Road (SSG Road)

Subject to fair weather:

LMVs followed by HMVs shall be allowed from Minamarg → Srinagar: 0500 hrs to 1000 hrs.

LMVs followed by HMVs shall be allowed from Sonamarg → Kargil: 1130 hrs to 1730 hrs.

No vehicle allowed after cut-off timing.

Mughal Road

Subject to fair weather & road condition (after GREF approval):

LMVs and private cars allowed both sides between Jammu ↔ Shopian and Jammu ↔ Poonch.

From Bhimber Gali (Bafliaz):

Upto 1730 hrs towards Shopian.

Upto 1700 hrs towards Poonch (as per 31-08-2025 advisory).

HMVs:

Allowed only from Shopian → Poonch.

No HMV allowed from Poonch → Shopian.

TCUs at Jammu and Srinagar will update traffic status accordingly.

Sinthan–Anantnag NH-244

Subject to fair weather & clearance from NHIDCL:

LMVs, then HMVs allowed from Anantnag → Kishtwar from 0500 hrs–1100 hrs.

LMVs, then HMVs allowed from Kishtwar → Anantnag from 1000 hrs–1500 hrs.

No vehicle allowed after cut-off time.
