TRAFFIC POLICE HEADQUARTERS J&K (Jammu / Srinagar)
Traffic Plan & Advisory – 18 March 2026
🚧 Road Condition
From 16 March 2026 (4:00 PM) to 17 March 2026 (4:00 PM), slow movement was observed on NH-44.
Reason:
Single-lane traffic between Marog and Kishtwari Pather
Breakdown of LMVs/HMVs
⚠️ Travel Advice
Passenger and LMV operators should travel on Jammu–Srinagar NHW during daytime only.
Avoid night travel due to:
Shooting stones / landslides
Construction work between Ramban and Banihal
🚗 Rules for Drivers
Follow lane discipline
No overtaking
Avoid wrong-lane driving
Prevent traffic congestion
🛣️ NH-44 (National Highway)
If weather and road conditions are good:
LMVs, passenger vehicles, HPVs, private cars, and HMVs (goods carriers) allowed
Traffic allowed from both sides (Jammu ↔ Srinagar)
Movement coordinated with TCU Ramban
🚓 Security Forces Convoy
Allowed from both sides on NH-44
Movement only after confirmation from TCU Ramban
❄️ Other Roads Status
1. Kishtwar – Sinthan – Anantnag (NH-244)
Temporarily CLOSED
Closure ordered by District Magistrate Anantnag
Due to snow accumulation
2. SSG Road (Srinagar–Sonamarg–Gumri / Zojila Axis)
If weather permits:
LMVs with anti-skid chains allowed
Movement: Kargil → Srinagar → Sonamarg → Gumri
No vehicle allowed after 3:00 PM
Travel only after permission from road maintenance agencies
3. Mughal Road
If weather permits:
LMVs & passenger/private cars allowed
Route: Jammu → Srinagar → Poonch (via Chandimarg, Behramgala, Herpora)
Timing:
11:00 AM to 3:00 PM (Shopian → Poonch)
No movement after cut-off time
