Traffic Plan & Advisory – 29 March 2026
🚧 Road Condition
From 27 March 2026 (4:00 PM) to 28 March 2026 (4:00 PM), slow traffic movement on NH-44.
Reasons:
Single-lane traffic between Marog and Kishtwari Pather
Breakdown of 3 heavy motor vehicles (HMVs)
🌨️ Weather Alert
Bad weather expected (rain/snowfall) as per Meteorological Department.
People are advised to:
Travel only after confirming road status
Check updates from Traffic Police Twitter/Facebook
⚠️ Travel Advice
Passenger and LMV operators should travel during daytime only.
Avoid night travel due to:
Shooting stones / landslides
Construction work (Ramban–Banihal stretch)
🚗 Rules for Drivers
Follow lane discipline
No overtaking
Avoid wrong-lane driving
Prevent traffic congestion
🛣️ NH-44 (National Highway)
If weather and road conditions are good:
LMVs, passenger vehicles, HPVs, private cars, and HMVs (goods carriers) allowed
Traffic allowed from both sides (Jammu ↔ Srinagar)
Coordination with TCU Ramban
🚓 Security Forces Movement
Allowed from both sides
Movement only after confirmation from TCU Ramban
❄️ Other Roads Status
1. Kishtwar – Sinthan – Anantnag (NH-244)
Temporarily CLOSED due to snow accumulation
2. SSG Road (Srinagar–Sonamarg–Gumri / Zojila Axis)
If weather permits:
LMVs with anti-skid chains allowed
Movement: Minamarg → Srinagar
Cut-off time: 1:30 PM
Due to avalanche risk
3. Mughal Road
If weather permits:
LMVs & passenger/private cars allowed
Route: Jammu → Srinagar → Poonch (via Chandimarg, Behramgala, Herpora)
Timing:
11:00 AM to 3:00 PM (Shopian → Poonch)
No movement after cut-off time
