JK National Highway Traffic Updates for 10th July 2026
Traffic Advisory
From: 09-07-2026, 1800 hrs to 10-07-2026, 1800 hrs.
After considering the reports from the India Meteorological Department (IMD) and the road maintenance agencies, the following traffic advisory has been issued for NH-44 and other major roads in Jammu & Kashmir.
General Advisory
In view of increased tourist movement and local commuters, traffic movement on the Jammu–Srinagar National Highway (NH-44) shall be facilitated during the notified hours.
Local commuters travelling between Nagrota and Srinagar are advised to use the old road via Jawahar Tunnel to avoid congestion at Lamber (Banihal).
Commuters travelling to Doda, Kishtwar, Bhaderwah, Ramban and adjoining areas are advised to use the old road via Jawahar Tunnel.
Passenger vehicles are advised to prefer travel during daytime. Night travel should be avoided due to the possibility of landslides, shooting stones, and shooting debris, especially between Ramban and Banihal.
Goods carriers transporting perishable items and livestock will be given priority, subject to traffic regulation by the Traffic Police.
HMVs carrying essential commodities should avoid reaching Nashri before the designated release time to prevent congestion between Navyug Tunnel and Levdora.
Traffic Police and the concerned road agencies have been instructed to ensure smooth regulation and safety. Motorists should follow lane discipline and traffic directions.

Jammu → Srinagar (NH-44)
Subject to fair weather and road conditions, LMVs, passenger/private vehicles will be allowed from both sides as per traffic management.
HMVs carrying essential commodities will be allowed after assessing the traffic situation.
Commuters are advised to check the latest traffic status before starting their journey.

Yatra Timings
Cut-off timings for LMVs/Passenger/Private Cars
Towards Srinagar
Nagrota (Jammu): 0700 hrs – 1200 hrs
Jakheni (Udhampur): 0800 hrs – 1300 hrs
Towards Jammu
Qazigund: 1100 hrs – 1700 hrs
Banihal: 1100 hrs – 1700 hrs
No vehicle will be allowed to cross the designated cut-off points after the prescribed timings.
HMVs Movement
Subject to weather and road conditions, HMVs carrying essential commodities will be allowed after clearance from the Traffic Control Units.
HMVs should maintain proper lane discipline and avoid unnecessary stoppages.
Army/BSF Convoy Movement
Army and BSF convoy movement will be facilitated as per traffic management.
Civilian traffic may be temporarily halted wherever required to allow safe convoy passage.
Motorists are requested to cooperate with Traffic Police personnel during convoy movement.
Mughal Road
Subject to fair weather and road conditions, traffic will be allowed on Mughal Road for LMVs and other permitted vehicles.
Passengers should confirm the road status before travelling.
Sinthan Pass / Anantnag – Kishtwar Road
Traffic will remain subject to weather conditions and clearance by the concerned authorities.
Travellers are advised to verify road conditions before starting their journey.
SSG Road (Srinagar–Sonamarg–Gumri)
Movement on the Srinagar–Sonamarg–Gumri Road shall remain subject to weather conditions and road clearance by the Border Roads Organisation (BRO).
