Traffic Update (16-06-2026)
From 15-06-2026, 1600 hrs to 16-06-2026, 1600 hrs, slow traffic movement was observed on NH-44 due to single-lane conditions between Marog and Kishtwar Pather, in addition to breakdown of 03 HMVs between Nashri and Banihal.
District Magistrate Ramban Order
Order No. ADMR/542-54 dated 10-06-2026 (copy enclosed) accorded permission to NH-44 for relaying works (execution of bituminous works) during night hours on 12th, 14th and 16th June 2026 at various locations including:
Nashri–Dalwas
Nashri–Banihal stretch
Traffic will remain suspended between Nashri and Navyug Tunnel on the intervening night of 16th/17th June 2026 from 2200 hrs to 0500 hrs.
Traffic from Udhampur towards Ramban, Banihal and Srinagar shall be allowed after 0700 hrs from designated points.
Passenger/LMV Operations Advisory
Passenger/LMV operators are advised to prefer journey on Jammu–Srinagar NHW during daytime.
Night travel should be avoided due to apprehension of shooting stones/landslides and adverse weather.

Traffic Movement Rules
No traffic movement allowed between Nashri and Navyug Tunnel during restricted hours.
Subject to fair weather:
Traffic will be allowed on both sides of NH-44.
LMVs/passenger vehicles/private cars:
Allowed from Nagrota (Jammu) towards Srinagar.
Allowed from Qazigund towards Jammu.
Strict lane discipline:
No overtaking
Maintain safe distance
SFs Convoy Movement
Security Forces vehicles shall be allowed from both sides on Jammu–Srinagar NHW (NH-44) subject to clearance.
Kishtwar–Sinthan–Anantnag NH-244
Vehicles will be allowed subject to weather conditions.
Only LMVs and passenger vehicles are permitted.
HMVs are generally restricted due to road conditions.
Vehicles should cross in designated time slots only.
SSG Road (Srinagar–Sonamarg–Gumri)
Open subject to weather conditions.
LMVs shall be allowed from both sides:
Sonamarg → Kargil
Minamarg → Srinagar
No vehicle shall be allowed after cutoff timings.
Mughal Road
As per orders issued by the District Magistrate, Shopian:
Road open for LMVs only.
Subject to weather conditions.
Traffic allowed between:
Shopian → Poonch
Buffliaz → Shopian
HMVs are not allowed.
