JK National Highway Traffic Updates for 27th May 2026
From 26-05-2026, 1600 hrs to 27-05-2026, 1600 hrs, slow traffic movement was observed on NH-44 due to single-lane conditions between Marog and Kishtwari Pather, in addition to the breakdown of 02 LMVs at Nasri and Digdole, and the movement of 02 nomadic herds (crossing Nachlana–Banihal).
Owing to ongoing movement of 02 nomadic herds, traffic on the single-lane stretch from Marog to Kishtwari Pather is likely to slow down. Commuters are advised to follow lane discipline and avoid overtaking.
Passenger/LMV Operators
Passenger/LMV travel towards Srinagar shall be allowed only after assessing road condition. Night travel should be avoided due to the apprehension of shooting stones/landslides. Movement of nomads towards valley as well as ongoing construction work between Ramban and Banihal may cause inconvenience to commuters.
NH-44 (NHW)
Subject to fair weather and better road conditions, LMVs/Passenger/HPSVs/Private Cars/LMVs (goods carrier) shall be allowed from both sides on Jammu–Srinagar NHW (NH-44) i.e., from Jammu towards Srinagar and vice-versa.
Commuters are advised to follow lane discipline, avoid overtaking, and drive with caution.
TCU Ramban regarding the road condition.
SFs Convoy Movement
Subject to fair weather and good road conditions, Security Forces vehicles shall be allowed from both sides on Jammu–Srinagar NHW (NH-44), i.e., Jammu towards Srinagar and vice-versa after confirming the status of NHW from TCU Ramban.
Kishtwar–Sinthan–Anantnag NH-244
As per orders issued by the SDM Chatroo vide No. SDM/Chatroo/22-73/149-58 dated 05-05-2026 and the SDM Kokernag vide No. SDM/KNG/26-27/201/207 dated 01-05-2026, subject to fair weather and road conditions, after getting clearance from the maintenance agencies (NHIDCL), only LMVs Passenger/Private Cars shall be allowed to ply from Kishtwar towards Srinagar via Sinthan Top.
These vehicles shall be allowed from PP Parana between 0830 hrs to 1530 hrs. No vehicle shall be allowed after cut-off timing. TCU Jammu/Ramban/TCU Srinagar will inform all concerned about the cut-off timing.
SSG Road
As per order issued by the Divisional Commissioner, vide No. DivCom/Dev/100/2026/4392-4410 dated 14-05-2026, subject to fair weather and good road conditions, LMVs shall be allowed to ply from both sides on Srinagar–Sonamarg–Gumri road, i.e., from Srinagar towards Kargil and vice-versa.
These vehicles shall be allowed from Sonamarg towards Kargil and Minamarg towards Srinagar only after receiving green signal from the road maintenance agencies up to 1300 hrs. However, HMVs shall be allowed to move from Minamarg towards Srinagar between 1200 hrs and 1500 hrs, and no vehicle shall be allowed after 1500 hrs.
Motorists are advised to carry and use anti-skid chains to gain more grip on the slippery road.
ICU Srinagar and PCR Kargil will inform all concerned about the cut-off timing.
Mughal Road
As per orders issued by the District Magistrate, Shopian vide No. DMS/ADM/PS/25-26/278-85 dated 22-04-2026 and the District Magistrate, Poonch vide No. DMJ/376-01 dated 22-04-2026, and subject to fair weather and good road conditions, vehicular movement (LMVs only) shall be allowed from Poonch towards Shopian and vice-versa.
These vehicles shall be allowed from Chandimarh (Buffliaz) towards Shopian between 0900 hrs and 1700 hrs, and from Herpora (Shopian) towards Poonch between 1000 hrs and 1700 hrs, after obtaining clearance from the road maintenance agency (GREF).
No vehicle shall be allowed after the cut-off timings. TCU Jammu and TCU Srinagar shall inform all concerned regarding the cut-off timings.
