J&K Police Issues Advisory Ahead Of Aug 5, Urges Public To Maintain Peace

No Protest Or Rally Allowed Without Permission: Police

Srinagar, Aug 4: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Tuesday issued a public advisory ahead of August 5, in view of protest calls issued by certain political parties and organisations.

the police said that comprehensive security arrangements have been put in place across the Valley to ensure peace, public order and public safety.

The general public has been informed that no protest, rally, procession, demonstration or any other public gathering shall be held without prior permission from the competent authority. Police said any violation of the prescribed legal provisions will be dealt with strictly in accordance with law.

J&K Police has appealed to all citizens to cooperate with law enforcement agencies and maintain peace and communal harmony.

The advisory further urged people to refrain from spreading rumours or unverified information and to immediately report any suspicious activity to the nearest Police Station.(GNS)
