Kulgam attack raises questions on end of militancy in J&K: Farooq Abdullah
National Conference (NC) president Dr. Farooq Abdullah Tuesday questioned claims that militancy has ended in Jammu and Kashmir, citing the recent attack in Kulgam where a retired soldier was killed on Monday.
Speaking to reporters according to news agency KINS, Farooq said, βIf such incidents are still taking place, how can they (BJP) claim that militancy has ended in Jammu and Kashmir?β
On the upcoming Delhi elections, he stated that while the BJP is making claims of forming the government, similar assertions were made in Jammu and Kashmir in the past, but the peopleβs mandate proved otherwise.
The former Chief Minister also reiterated that Jammu and Kashmir would regain its statehood. However, he admitted that predicting the timeline for this restoration remains difficult.
