Among sectors, he believes healthcare, consumer discretionary and financial services are likely to perform well. “As countries improve their per-capita GDP, they consume more healthcare. This, coupled with greater insurance penetration, will drive demand for healthcare more than other sectors,” Banerjee said in an interview.
Given that Indian GDP growth remains healthy, particularly in the formal sector, financials are also becoming increasingly attractive, smallcase manager believes.
