Severe Weather Update for J&K (Issued at 1530 Hrs)
The Meteorological Centre, Srinagar has issued a nowcast indicating that a spell of rain and thundershowers is expected to affect many areas of North, Central and South Kashmir, along with parts of Ramban, Banihal, Doda and Kishtwar.
The weather activity is likely to continue over the next 2 to 3 hours.
During this period, isolated places may experience hailstorm and strong gusty winds, which could temporarily disrupt normal life.

In view of the prevailing weather conditions, boating activities in Dal Lake, adjoining areas and other water bodies should be suspended as a safety measure.
Residents and visitors are advised to remain indoors as far as possible and exercise caution.
