Trump says US will be hitting Iran ‘very hard tonight’, vows to seize Kharg Island and oil assets
US President Donald Trump has threatened a new wave of military action against Iran and suggested Washington could eventually take control of key Iranian oil and gas assets, marking a dramatic escalation in rhetoric as tensions between the two countries continue to rise
In a post on his Truth Social platform on Thursday, Trump claimed Iran’s military capabilities had been largely destroyed and warned that further attacks were imminent.
“The United States will be hitting Iran (Whose Navy, Air Force, Radar, Anti Aircraft, and all other forms of Defense, together with most its offensive capability, are GONE!), VERY HARD TONIGHT,” Trump wrote.
The US president also suggested that Washington could move beyond military strikes and target Iran’s energy infrasture

“At some point in the not too distant future, we will be taking Kharg Island, and other oil infrastructure points, and assume total control of their Oil and Gas Markets, much like we have with Venezuela, which is working out brilliantly for both Venezuela and the United States of America.”
