Meanwhile, Al Arabiya English reported, citing a Pakistani source, that US and Iranian delegations are expected to arrive in Islamabad simultaneously on Tuesday for the second round of talks.

China has also expressed support for Pakistan’s efforts to facilitate engagement between United States and Iran, according to Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry. Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar met Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zaidong in Islamabad, where both sides discussed regional developments and reaffirmed their strategic partnership.

Separately, Iranian state television issued an on-screen alert stating that “no delegation from Iran has visited Islamabad … so far,” amid speculation over participation in the talks, as reported by The Associated Press.

Iranian state media said the statement reflects internal discussions within the country’s leadership over its response to recent tensions, including the US Navy’s seizure of an Iranian container ship.

AP reported that US Vice President JD Vance is expected to lead the American delegation, while Iran has not officially confirmed its representatives. In the previous round, parliamentary speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf led Iran’s team.

Pakistan has not officially confirmed the final schedule of the talks, but officials say preparations are underway as regional and diplomatic efforts continue to push for a breakthrough.
