Vaibhav Sooryavanshi scripted history on Saturday as he earned his maiden India cap in the second T20I against England at Manchester. Sooryavanshi attained the feat at 15 years 99 days, making him the youngest among men to achieve the feat.
The previous record was held by Sachin Tendulkar, who had made his India debut at the age of 16 years and 205 days against Pakistan in a Test back in 1989.

Overall if we compare both men and women, Sooryavanshi is the second youngest to earn a debut for India. Gargi Banerji, at 14 years and 165 days, had made her international debut against England in 1978.
Meanwhile, Sooryavanshi is also the youngest to make his debut for India in T20Is. The previous record was held by Shafali Verma, who had made her debut against South Africa in September 2019, when she was 15 years and 239 days old. Among men it was Washington Sundar, who held the previous record at 18 years and 80 days against Sri Lanka in December 2017.
