1. Kargil Vijay Diwas Observed Across India

India commemorated the 27th Kargil Vijay Diwas to honour the brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives during the 1999 Kargil War. Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid tribute to the armed forces, stating that their courage and sacrifice will always inspire the nation.

2. Sarnath Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site

Sarnath, the sacred Buddhist site in Uttar Pradesh where Lord Buddha delivered his first sermon, has been inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. It becomes India’s 45th UNESCO World Heritage Site, boosting the country’s cultural heritage and Buddhist tourism.
