JK National Highway Traffic Updates for 27th July 2026
From: 26-07-2026, 1800 Hrs to 27-07-2026, 1800 Hrs
The traffic on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway (NH-44) is subject to fair weather. Due to the forecast of rain over the next few days, the general public is advised to avoid unnecessary travel on NH-44. Before commencing any journey, travellers should check the latest traffic updates from Traffic Control Units (TCUs) and the J&K Traffic Police.
After the completion of maintenance work on NH-44, traffic will be allowed on the highway subject to fair weather and road conditions. Commuters are advised to follow lane discipline and avoid overtaking.
Heavy Motor Vehicles (HMVs) should avoid travelling during the night unless permitted by the Traffic Police.
Srinagar–Sonamarg–Gumri Road
Subject to fair weather and road conditions, the road shall remain open.
Srinagar–Leh Highway
Subject to fair weather, traffic shall be allowed from both sides. However, HMVs carrying essential commodities shall be permitted subject to road and weather conditions.
Mughal Road
Subject to fair weather and clearance by the Border Roads Organisation (BRO), the road shall remain open for traffic.

Cut-off Timings for LMVs / Passenger / Private Cars
To Srinagar
Nagrota (Jammu) towards Srinagar: 0700 hrs to 1200 hrs
Jakheni (Udhampur) towards Srinagar: 0800 hrs to 1300 hrs
To Jammu
Qazigund towards Jammu: 1100 hrs to 1700 hrs
No vehicle shall be allowed to move outside the notified cut-off timings.
Movement of HMVs
Subject to fair weather and good road conditions:
HMVs shall be allowed from Navyug Tunnel towards Srinagar.
Loaded HMVs shall move in a regulated manner as per Traffic Police instructions.
No vehicle shall be allowed outside the prescribed timings.
HMVs carrying essential commodities will receive priority.
Traffic Restrictions
Lane discipline must be maintained.
Overtaking is strictly prohibited.
Vehicles must follow the directions of Traffic Police personnel.
In case of bad weather, landslides, shooting stones, or road blockages, traffic may be suspended.
The general public is advised to undertake journeys only after confirming the latest road status from the following Traffic Control Units:
