Eligibility Criteria 2026
PGIMER Nursing Officer eligibility 2026 is based on educational qualification, professional registration, and (for some candidates) experience, along with the prescribed age limit.
Qualification
Candidates must possess one of the following qualification combinations:
Option A: B.Sc. (Hons) in Nursing from a recognized University or Institute, OR Regular course in B.Sc. Nursing from a recognized University or Institute, OR Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing from a recognized University or Institute; AND Registered as a Nurse or Nurse and mid-wife (RN or RN & RM) with a State Nursing Council.
Option B: Diploma in General Nursing and Mid-wifery (GNM) from a recognized Board or Council; Registered as a Nurse or Nurse and mid-wife from a State Nursing Council; AND one year of experience in a minimum fifty-bedded hospital after acquiring the above qualification.
Age Limit 2026
The age limit for PGIMER Nursing Officer Recruitment 2026 is 18 to 35 years, calculated as on the last date of submission of the online application, i.e., 03.10.2026. Date of Birth as recorded in the Matriculation/Secondary Examination Certificate will be accepted; no subsequent request for change will be considered.

Note: No age relaxation is available to reserved category candidates applying against an unreserved (UR) vacancy. Age relaxation for PwBD and Central Government Civilian Employees will not be considered together; only the more beneficial relaxation among the two will be allowed. The maximum age of a PwBD applicant after relaxation shall not exceed 56 years on the crucial date.

Selected candidates for the post of Nursing Officer will be placed in Pay Level-7 of the 7th CPC Pay Matrix, with a pay scale of Rs. 44,900 – 142,400/-. The notification does not specify additional allowances separately; candidates may refer to applicable Central Government allowance rules for details not covered in this notice. The application fee for PGIMER Nursing Officer Recruitment 2026 differs by category, and payment must be made online. Mode of Payment: Candidates can deposit the application fee through the online payment gateway available on the application portal using Debit Card, Credit Card, or Net Banking. Payment through UPI may be avoided. The application fee is non-refundable, and no correspondence regarding refund of fee for erroneously filled applications will be entertained. Selection to the post of Nursing Officer will be made purely on the basis of a Computer Based Test (CBT); there is no interview for this Group ‘B’ (Non-Gazetted) post, as per Government of India instructions. Shortlisting: Candidates who qualify the CBT as per the minimum qualifying criteria will be shortlisted category-wise. The number of candidates shortlisted will be 3 times the number of advertised posts (plus ties), for further scrutiny and document verification. Scrutiny of Applications: Applications of shortlisted candidates are checked against the applicable recruitment rules and uploaded documents. Provisional Result (Selected/Waitlisted): Declared based on merit in the CBT for candidates found eligible by the scrutiny committee. Document Verification: Provisionally selected/waitlisted candidates are called for in-person document verification with original certificates. Final Selection: Made purely on merit based on CBT marks, after documents are found in order. The Computer Based Test is likely to be held at the following 29 cities across India. Candidates must select their preferred city while filling the online application; allotment is on a first-come-first-serve basis, and the chosen city cannot be changed later. PGIMER Nursing Officer Apply Online process is entirely online; no offline application form or downloaded/printed application copy will be accepted. Visit the official PGIMER website: www.pgimer.edu.in and go to the Recruitment link on the Home Page. Complete Online Registration by filling mandatory details: Advertisement Number, Advertisement Date, Name of Applicant (as per matriculation certificate), Date of Birth (as per matriculation certificate), Mobile Number, and Email ID. These details cannot be changed once registered. Login using the User ID and password received on the registered email and mobile number, then click “Go to Application Form”. Fill the section-wise Application Form covering personal information, qualification(s), experience(s), and upload of documents/certificates. Use “Save and Next” to move between sections. Upload a recent, unattested, scanned photograph in JPG/JPEG format (50–80 KB), snapped on or after 1st July 2026, with the candidate’s name and date of taking the photograph clearly visible on it. Upload legible scanned copies of certificates/documents supporting educational qualification (from Matric onwards), mark sheets, date of birth proof, category certificate (SC/ST/OBC/PwBD, where applicable), experience certificate(s), and NOC from present employer (if employed). Indicate your preferred examination city carefully, as it cannot be changed later. Click Submit after completing all sections, and proceed to pay the applicable application fee through Net Banking, Credit Card, or Debit Card. Take a printout of the completed application form for future reference and document verification. Candidates already in government/semi-government/autonomous body employment must forward their application through proper channel to the Administrative Officer, Recruitment Cell of the Institute, within 10 days after the last date fixed for online submission; the online application is treated as an advance copy. Candidates may apply for more than one post if otherwise eligible, but must pay the prescribed fee separately for each. No request for change of any particulars (name, date of birth, category, qualification, marks, photo, signature, etc.) will be entertained after submission of the application form. SC/ST/OBC candidates must upload the requisite Caste Certificate; OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) candidates need a certificate issued between 01.04.2026 and 03.10.2026, in the format at Annexure-I, along with a declaration as per Annexure-II at the time of document verification. EWS candidates must produce an Income and Asset Certificate (valid for year 2026-27) issued between 01.04.2026 and 03.10.2026 by a Competent Authority, in the format at Annexure-III. Family gross annual income must be below Rs. 8 lakh, and specified land/property holding limits must not be exceeded. PwBD candidates must have a minimum of 40% benchmark disability and submit the requisite disability certificate; scribe/reader/compensatory time facility is available subject to conditions and advance intimation to PGIMER via [email protected]. Central Government Civilian Employees seeking age relaxation must submit the certificate as per Annexure-VI and a No Objection Certificate from their employer. Roll Numbers/Admit Cards will be available for download approximately one week before the exam and will not be sent by post. Candidates are prohibited from carrying mobile phones, wrist watches, wallets, jewellery, or any electronic device into the examination hall. Result will be declared only on the PGIMER website; no individual intimation will be sent at any stage. There is no provision for re-checking or re-evaluation of answer sheets. Candidature of applicants is purely provisional at all stages of the recruitment process and can be cancelled at any stage if found ineligible.
