Educational Qualification :

Master’s degree of a recognized University in Hindi with English as compulsory/elective subject at degree level; OR Master’s degree in English with Hindi as compulsory/elective at degree level; OR Master’s degree in any other subject with Hindi/English as medium or compulsory subject at degree level.

Recognized Diploma/Certificate in translation from Hindi to English & vice versa OR 2 years’ experience of translation work from Hindi to English and vice versa in Central/State Government Office including PSUs.

Age Limit :
The age limit for SSC Combined Hindi Translators Examination 2026 is between 18 and 30 years, calculated as on the crucial date of 01.08.2026. Candidates must have been born not before 02.08.1996 and not later than 01.08.2008 to be eligible. Age relaxation is applicable to candidates belonging to reserved categories as per Government of India rules.

Application Fee :
The application fee for SSC Combined Hindi Translators Examination 2026 is ₹100 for General (UR), OBC, and EWS male candidates. Women candidates and candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD), and Ex-Servicemen eligible for reservation are fully exempted from payment of fee.
Fee can be paid online only through BHIM UPI, Net Banking, or by using Visa, MasterCard, Maestro, or RuPay Debit Card. The fee once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances and will not be adjusted against any other examination. Candidates must ensure their fee payment is complete – if the fee is not received by SSC, the application status will show as “Incomplete” and will be summarily rejected.

Scheme of Examination :
The SSC Combined Hindi Translators Examination 2026 will consist of two papers. Paper-I is a Computer Based Examination with objective-type multiple choice questions, divided into two sections – General Hindi and General English – each carrying 100 marks with a sectional timer of 1 hour. There is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer in Paper-I.
Based on performance in Paper-I, candidates will be shortlisted category-wise to appear in Paper-II, which is a descriptive paper testing translation and essay writing skills in both Hindi and English, carrying 200 marks. Marks scored in Paper-I will be normalized if the exam is held in multiple shifts. Tentative Answer Keys will be uploaded after the exam, and candidates can submit online representations within the given time on payment of ₹50 per question (non-refundable).
