Age Limit :

The age limit for SSC Combined Hindi Translators Examination 2026 is between 18 and 30 years, calculated as on the crucial date of 01.08.2026. Candidates must have been born not before 02.08.1996 and not later than 01.08.2008 to be eligible. Age relaxation is applicable to candidates belonging to reserved categories as per Government of India rules.

Application Fee :

The application fee for SSC Combined Hindi Translators Examination 2026 is ₹100 for General (UR), OBC, and EWS male candidates. Women candidates and candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD), and Ex-Servicemen eligible for reservation are fully exempted from payment of fee.

Fee can be paid online only through BHIM UPI, Net Banking, or by using Visa, MasterCard, Maestro, or RuPay Debit Card. The fee once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances and will not be adjusted against any other examination. Candidates must ensure their fee payment is complete – if the fee is not received by SSC, the application status will show as “Incomplete” and will be summarily rejected.

Scheme of Examination :

The SSC Combined Hindi Translators Examination 2026 will consist of two papers. Paper-I is a Computer Based Examination with objective-type multiple choice questions, divided into two sections – General Hindi and General English – each carrying 100 marks with a sectional timer of 1 hour. There is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer in Paper-I.

Based on performance in Paper-I, candidates will be shortlisted category-wise to appear in Paper-II, which is a descriptive paper testing translation and essay writing skills in both Hindi and English, carrying 200 marks. Marks scored in Paper-I will be normalized if the exam is held in multiple shifts. Tentative Answer Keys will be uploaded after the exam, and candidates can submit online representations within the given time on payment of ₹50 per question (non-refundable).

Selection Process :

The selection process for SSC Combined Hindi Translators Examination 2026 consists of two stages. In the first stage, Paper-I (Computer Based Examination) is used to shortlist candidates category-wise for Paper-II. Minimum qualifying marks in Paper-I are 30% for UR, 25% for OBC/EWS, and 20% for all other categories. In the second stage, Paper-II (Descriptive) is conducted for shortlisted candidates.

For the final merit list, 50% weightage is given to Paper-I scores and 100% weightage to Paper-II marks. Final selection and allocation of Ministry/Department/Organization is based on merit-cum-preference of posts/departments exercised by candidates through an Online Option Form. In case of a tie, it is resolved by total marks in Paper-II, then date of birth (older preferred), and finally alphabetical order of names. Selected candidates will be on probation for 2 years and all posts carry All India Service Liability (AISL).

How to Apply ?

The application process for SSC Combined Hindi Translators Examination 2026 is entirely online at https://ssc.gov.in. Candidates who have not yet completed their One-Time Registration (OTR) on the new SSC website must do so first, as the earlier OTR from the old website (ssc.nic.in) is not valid for the new portal. Aadhaar-based biometric authentication is available and recommended – candidates who opt for it will not face rejection on grounds of photograph or signature quality.

The application module is designed to capture a live photograph of the candidate through webcam or mobile device; pre-existing photographs must not be submitted. Candidates must also upload their scanned signature in JPEG/JPG format (10-20 KB). Applications with blurred or miniature photographs or signatures will be summarily rejected unless Aadhaar authentication has been opted for. Only one online application per candidate is permitted during the normal application period.

Login using Registration Number and Password.

Click on “Apply” under “Combined Hindi Translators Examination, 2026” in the Live Exam tab.

Fill in educational details, additional information (ESM/age relaxation), and examination centre preferences (up to 3 centres).

Capture live photograph through webcam/mobile as per instructions (no cap, mask, or spectacles).

Upload scanned signature in JPEG/JPG format (10-20 KB), dimensions ~6.0 cm (W) × 2.0 cm (H).

PwBD/PwD candidates must upload Disability Certificate as per Annexure-I/IA/X/XI, whichever is applicable.

Preview the application carefully, complete the declaration, and submit before 14.05.2026 (23:00 hours).

Pay the application fee (if applicable) online through BHIM UPI, Net Banking, or Debit Card on or before 15.05.2026 (23:00 hours).

Take a printout of the submitted application for future reference.

Important Instructions for Candidates

Candidates applying for SSC Combined Hindi Translators Examination 2026 must read the official notification carefully in its entirety before filling and submitting the application form. The English version of the notice will prevail in case of any dispute. Candidates are advised to submit their applications well before the closing date to avoid last-minute server load issues on the SSC website. All candidatures are provisional – the Commission does not undertake detailed scrutiny at the time of the written examination, and eligibility will be verified only at the Document Verification stage by the User Departments. Any suppression or misrepresentation of information in the application can lead to cancellation of candidature at any stage, including after selection. Canvassing in any form will result in immediate disqualification. The decision of the Commission in all matters including eligibility, selection, and allocation of posts is final and binding.
