Generally Dry Weather Likely Across Jammu Kashmir Till October 4: MeT

Jammu and Kashmir is likely to experience generally dry weather until October 4, with a spell of light rain and snowfall over higher reaches forecast for October 5 and 6, the Meteorological Centre said.

According to the latest forecast, weather conditions are expected to remain generally dry on September 30 and from October 1 to 4.

On October 5 and 6, partly to generally cloudy conditions are likely, with light rain, thunder and gusty winds possible at a few places. Light snowfall may also occur over the higher reaches during the period, the MeT centre said.

Dry weather is forecast to return on October 7 and 8.

The Meteorological Centre has also forecast another spell of partly to generally cloudy weather from October 9 to 11. During this period, scattered areas may receive light rain, while light snowfall is possible over higher reaches, accompanied by thunder and gusty winds.

The weather office has advised farmers to continue harvesting apples and paddy and carry out other agricultural operations during the period.
