Pak-Based LeT Terrorist Killed in Yousmarg Encounter

*Killed terrorist identified as Mohammad Asif alias Hashim Moosa as Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist; war-like stores also recovered*

Srinagar, Sept 30 : The body of a Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorist was recovered during a search operation in the general area of Palmaidan amid the ongoing Operation Korag in Yousmarg, the Army said on Wednesday.

Chinar Corps of the Indian Army, in a post on X, as per news agency said that, during an early morning search, the body of the terrorist was recovered along with war-like stores.

The Army identified the terrorist as Mohammad Asif alias Hashim Moosa and said he was associated with the Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba.

“Operation under progress,” the Army said.

Encounter broke out on Tuesday evening, after a joint team of security forces launched a cordon and search operation in the area following specific intelligence inputs.

As the forces intensified the operation and moved towards the suspected location, terrorists hiding in the area opened fire, triggering an exchange of fire, in which one terroristwas killed, a senior police officer had told JKNS on Tuesday evening. (JKNS)
