Rain, Thunderstorm Alert Issued for Parts of J&K

The Meteorological Centre Srinagar has forecast a spell of rain and thundershowers across several parts of Jammu and Kashmir till today evening or late evening hours.

According to the advisory, many areas of North and Central Kashmir are likely to experience rain or thundershowers, while a few places in South Kashmir and the Jammu division may also be affected.

The weather system could be accompanied by gusty winds reaching speeds of 40–50 kmph, with the possibility of hail at isolated locations.

In view of the adverse weather conditions, the Meteorological Department has advised people to remain cautious and avoid staying near electric poles, overhead wires, and weak or loose structures.

As a precautionary measure, boating and Shikara riding have been suspended in all water bodies until conditions improve.
